Charlie delivered an absolutely outstanding performance today — a true all-round display that showed just how important he is in the engine room of this team. Operating in midfield, Charlie was everywhere. He worked tirelessly both going forward and tracking back, constantly supporting his teammates and breaking up opposition play. His physical presence and competitive edge helped us gain control in key moments of the game.

On top of that, Charlie added a new dimension to his game today. This was a complete midfield performance: hard-working, intelligent, combative, and technically sharp. Charlie led by example throughout and played a huge role in the team’s overall performance.

A real tight affair from the first whistle, with both sides starting brightly but clearly focused on feeling each other out. It proved to be a half where the defensive units of both teams were firmly on top. There was an excellent display of organisation and discipline, limiting opportunities to crosses into the box and speculative efforts from distance. Both goalkeepers looked assured throughout, comfortably dealing with anything thrown their way. It was a hard-fought and entertaining opening period, showcasing the defensive quality on display from both sides.

Second Half
The second half burst into life as both teams pushed forward in search of the opening goal. As the game became more stretched, spaces opened up and chances began to flow. Charlie F was alert on two occasions, reacting quickest to loose balls from the opposition keeper, but was denied both times by smart recovery saves.

The breakthrough eventually came for the opposition. Their winger surged forward into the box, and after a coming together right on the edge, the referee pointed to the penalty spot. The resulting spot kick was calmly slotted into the bottom right corner, giving Stocksbridge a deficit to chase.

To their credit, Stocksbridge responded brilliantly. Building more possession higher up the pitch, they began to apply pressure. Freddie drove strongly down the right to win a corner, and from the resulting delivery, Sammy whipped in a dangerous ball that the keeper could only spill. Freddie reacted sharply, stabbing home from close range into the roof of the net to bring the sides level.

With time ticking away, both teams searched for a winner. Unfortunately for Stocksbridge, it was the visitors who found it. This week we have a three-way tie for Parents’ Man of the Match, with Ethan, Charlie and Alfie all sharing the award after a fantastic team performance.

From the very first whistle to the last, Rory worked tirelessly for the team. Defensively, he was absolutely superb—throwing himself into a tough, physical contest and never once backing down.
