Sunny Dub Days are back baby ☀️
EZ in the AM with the Wednesday morning crew round Sheff
Track in the eve for some 800’s which were humbling. First session back from 3 weeks of no speedy stuff.
Always nice to have an extra meal of flys down at the track, extra protein 😮💨
Oakleys are out, speed back in the legs, appetite is up, toenails are bleeding and I am knackered. We are training properly again 🫱🏻🫲🏼

It’s been a little less running and a little more lifeing recently.
A welcome break from hammering KM’s and replacing em with nautical miles.
HOKA HACKNEY MOVES - Half Marathon & Fitness Festival next but 75 min for the half seems a million miles away.
Time to put some speed back in the pins again.
6 weeks out - link in the bio 🫶🏻🏃🏻

If anything deserves a post this week it’s this. My brother just completed the challenge of 5k everyday for a year.
In that time he’s been on holidays, hungover, ill, work, had races, battled all types of weather and had to pre plan round everything life’s thrown at him.
His fitness has gone through the roof doing it and he’s been able to pull of a 38 minute 10k AND a 1:30 half marathon whilst still having 0 days off.
If anybody needs some inspiration to start a challenge, maybe this is the sign. What started as a 2 week experiment has ended up being a lifelong achievement.
Mega proud. What a gangster.
He’s so gangster he doesn’t even have Instagram. Cold.

Both these athletes pulled off huge times, as a coach I couldn’t be prouder. Here’s the journey…
CAM
Debut marathon. Some would argue sub 3:30 is too much of a reach for a debut.
Challenge accepted we said.
Niggles? We adapted.
Bad run? Didn’t matter, miles logged, we go again.
Injury scares? Physio and rehab it was.
Mindset? Nailed it.
Consistent? Very.
Race day - Cam pulled off a 3:29. Took the gels on time, carbed up well, paced it well and ran the race we imagined. Tough towards the end, but that’s the marathon.
A hugely dedicated and determined effort. As the owner of .community , this says a lot about what he’s building and his love for the game. Big W.
ROSS
Where do we start…
If you follow .runs you’ll know the level.
IT band injury meant 9-10 weeks disrupted right when mileage should’ve been high. Goal was 2:50 to beat his 2:55 at York. The goal now was to just finish.
With only a few weeks to go, we focused on rebuilding confidence, mechanics and logging enough miles without pushing too hard.
3:01 on race day. Just 6 minutes off his PB from a compromised block. Huge result considering.
It’s not just about running. It’s mindset and grit when things don’t go to plan.
Both delivered on the day.
This is real running.
Adapting, overcoming, sticking at it.
You will always win in the end.

BARCELONA MARATHON CHIP TIME - 2:44:05
🇪🇸
Went to war with some Spanish tarmac and won.
Odds were stacked against me going into this one, not had the best of blocks. Dealing with an injury and not many long runs in the bank.
For me to run this time I HAD to go into it being slightly delusional and confident in my abilities.
I didn’t have the long run evidence I normally would if I’d had proper block.
Paphos the week prior was a good confidence booster and proved to me that I was in a good place aerobically. I just had to believe that I was capable.
The days leading up I was just buzzing, normally I get nervous but on the morning of, I was just dying to get going. Probably the most relaxed I’ve gone into a race strangely with it being my big A goal race.
Plan was to just stick with the 2:45 pacer and hold tight until the last 3k. Then kick with a couple of km’s to go and leave the pacer.
The route was unreal, met some pal along the way and just took it all in. Thought about dad in the final push and it all just came together on the day. I had a huge and I mean huge blister pop at 35k which was very painful but had to grit it out.
Met at a shakeout and he gave me the mantra from the Kenyans of - “Find a rhythm, forget the pain.” Said this on repeat the whole way and just tried to find that cruise if I could feel my head going.
gels 1 every 5km from the start. Carbs were at roughly 700g the day before. Probably more than what I should have but the time is forever, asthetic’s are not.
Class trip with the .community boys. All pulled off some huge times.
To say I’ve just ran a sub 19:25 5k 8 and a bit times over is absolutely mental.
Consistency, self belief, some delusion and a good plan - It’s yours to take.
