Every year, our previous years’ Lady Captain hosts Past Lady Captains Day, and this year it was Dawn’s turn to host a fabulous ‘Swing & Bling’ themed competition! 💎⛳️

There were plenty of prizes up for grabs, including Nearest the Pin, Nearest the Line and Longest Drive, plus a fun Putting Challenge for our non-competition players.

Last Thursday saw our Monthly Stableford competition take place, with the ladies enjoying another day of lovely, warm weather on the course ☀️⛳️

It’s been another busy week for our Ladies Section, with lots of different matches taking place across the week. Here’s a little round-up of the results! 👇

🏆 TAPPIN TROPHY
We are over the moon to announce that our Tappin Trophy team have made it through to the SEMI-FINALS! 🎉⛳️

In an incredible match last weekend at Sidcup against Chestfield, the team secured victory by winning 1 up on the 18th, 1 up on the 19th and 1 up on the 21st! 👏

What a finish! Huge congratulations to the whole team — we can’t wait to see what happens in the semi-final! 🤞

The team would also like to say a massive thank you to all the supporters who came along on the day, and especially to their Captain Wendy for all the goodies, refreshments and, most importantly, the words of encouragement! 💕👏

Congratulations to Carli, who won her match 6 & 5 here at Sidcup!

Commiserations to Helen, who lost her match on the 18th at Shooters Hill. What a fantastic achievement to have made it this far — well done from all of us!

We’ll be keeping everything crossed and look forward to seeing how Carli and Julie progress over the coming weeks! 🤞

🤝 FRIENDLY MATCH vs BEXLEYHEATH

Thursday saw a group of our members head over to Bexleyheath Golf Club for a friendly match, with it being a first visit for some of the team.

Sadly, we came away as runners-up this time, but a huge thank you to Bexleyheath Golf Club for the warm welcome and fantastic hospitality.

Last week at Sidcup Golf Club saw Captain Steve hold the annual Captain's Week – a week packed with golf competitions, charity fundraising and a family fun afternoon.

One of the highlights was the Ladies' Captain's Prize, where members competed for some fantastic prizes, along with fun on-course challenges including Nearest the Pin and Nearest the Line.

Captain Steve certainly spoilt us! From thoughtful goody bags waiting on the first tee, to a brilliant halfway house full of refreshments, plus fabulous prizes of bubbles and chocolates, his generosity made the day extra special. 🍫🥂

🎶🕺 Lady Captain Alison's Totally 80's Day! 💃🎶

Last Saturday saw our Ladies Section host Lady Captain Alison's fantastic Totally 80's Day, and what an unforgettable day it was!

We arrived in the sunshine to the biggest hits of the decade, where we were welcomed with a delicious cocktail and the chance to enjoy some retro games before heading to the first tee, with Lady Captain Alison starting everyone off.

The fancy dress was absolutely incredible and taken to the next level! Costumes included our Lady Captain as Adam Ant, Rubik's Cubes, Freddie Mercury, Jane Fonda-inspired fitness outfits, and so many fabulous 80s looks.

The Hoff even took pride of place throughout the day and helped with the prize presentation – it was great to have him there! 😎

Last Sunday, our very own Carli Smith represented our club at Sene Valley in the Race to Woodhall Spa regional qualifier.

The Race to Woodhall Spa is an England Golf competition that brings together the year's best medal winners, all competing for a place in the national finals this August.

Playing Sene Valley for the first time and facing a very strong field of competitors, Carli put in a fantastic performance to finish in seventh place.

While it wasn't quite enough to secure a place in the finals, reaching this stage of the competition is a wonderful achievement, and we're incredibly proud of everything Carli has accomplished.

Congratulations, Carli, and thank you for representing our club so brilliantly! 👏💙⛳

We'll be cheering on those who have qualified for the Woodhall Spa finals in August and look forward to hopefully seeing our members taking part in this fantastic competition next year.

Sidcup Golf Club

Today saw our Club President, Lesley Willcocks, host her very first Women’s President Putter Competition — and what a fabulous day it was!

With a fantastic turnout across both 9- and 18-hole competitions, and temperatures climbing into the high 20s, conditions in Sidcup were absolutely perfect.

Players were warmly welcomed with pre-match snacks and a choice of a brand-new lucky golf ball on arrival. A halfway-house stop featured M&S picky bits galore, Lady Vice Captain Deb’s famous cupcakes, ice cold waters and a jug (or two!) of Pimms — ensuring everyone was well fuelled for the back 9 or a well-earned rest on the terrace.

Sidcup Golf Club produced a strong team performance to claim a 4–1 away victory over Shortlands Golf Club in the Academia Golf Club Classic ⛳

The visitors put together an excellent display to secure their place in the next round after an enjoyable day of competitive golf.

Congratulations to Sidcup on progressing, and well played to both teams.

What a fantastic day we had hosting our Ladies Section Invitation Day! With a refreshing breeze in the air, most players completed 18 holes and enjoyed a halfway house packed with delicious goodies and treats along the way.
