Itβs been a long time since I posted a half naked picture of myself π Sorry Everyone! π I use Instagram to track my progress π€·π»ββοΈ
Story behind this post- the photo on the left was taken in May 2020 and is what I believe to be my best look ever. This was a few weeks into a rebound from competing and the symmetry and mass I had at that time was probably my favourite look.
Not many people know this but in 2021 I stopped training for about 18 months due to my mind not being in the right place (bodybuilding and competing can take its toll on your mind)
I had to take some time away to find that initial drive and purpose again and I started back at my childhood gym in 2023 (familiar place) and took things slowly.
These days- I train with the same intensity but focus on prioritising balance in my lifestyle and ensuring that I listen to my body a lot more.
The goal is to get back to that 2020 look and this is the first time Iβve taken some proper progress photos since then..
Apologies for the long post. But, maybe hearing my small battle may help others who are feeling the same way π€·π»ββοΈ
Thanks ππ»

Different Day π Same Habits π
Iβve been training consistently for the past 4-5 years with my longest βbreakβ from the gym being a few days.. πͺπΌ today marks my 2nd session in around 5 weeks π
I have quite an obsessive personality and If you have a mentality like me- you will understand the feeling of being disappointed if βperfectβ hasnβt been achieved. ππ»πͺ
I would beat myself up for missing a single session π€ or if I couldnβt lift what I did the previous week π’ but having this time off has given me chance to reflect and come back to the gym with a different mindset π§
Itβs ok to miss sessions, itβs ok to have off days but most of all- itβs important to celebrate your successes! The 2nd picture was a year ago this month. In my mind Iβm a million miles away from that look.. but turns out Iβm not that bad π€
Moral of the story- be kind to yourself sometimes. You will thank yourself in the future ππ»π

Saturday check in ππͺπΌ
Bringing the fitness topic back today π especially since gyms are opening in a few weeks ππ»
A lot of people think the gym is just about βlifting weightsβ. But itβs so much more than that! ππ» the gym invites people to better themselves and make better lifestyle choices in the goal of becoming a fitter, healthier, more active version of yourself πππ»
Mental health is also a factor when it comes to the gym π§ For some people- that 45 minute release in the gym is time to reflect, think and escape from the daily grind and problems for a little while π
So, as the gyms start opening- itβs time to be safe, be aware but also be conscious of everyoneβs personal journey πππ»
The gym may seem like an intimidating/scary place for some- but stay in your own lane π€ focus on yourself π and youβll usually find that everyone there is willing to help you πππ»
Stay safe and pump some iron! ππͺπΌππ»

Around 2 months time difference between these two photos..
- With no proper gym to train at ππ»ββοΈ
- Walking around 5km a day in work πΆββοΈ
- Eating 3 routine meals a day (plus some snacks and treats ππ«)
So considering all that.. Iβm quite pleased to be honest π I May have even got slightly leaner π€ what do you guys think?
Donβt get me wrong, training at home requires more will power and can take a bit longer with setup/packing away πͺ but we need to keep going until the gym are-open!
I hope everyone is staying safe, but most of all saying sane! π€― Do a bit of exercise each day to get the endorphins going! ππ

Time for a change π€π
If anyone may have noticed, Iβve recently changed my username π€ the reason for this is because Iβm going to start posting more personal things rather than fitness related posts πͺπΌ
Iβve refrained from posting personal things as I like to keep things quite private and separate from social media π
I think this may be for the better as everyone on here can get to know me better and what goes on in my life outside of the gym! π
So, if you donβt like the change, I apologise ππ» but this change is for me and for the right reasons π So hereβs a picture of me and my lovely girlfriend before lockdown π (sheβs been telling me to do this for years) πππ
Thanks again, Sam. π€πΌπ

8 years difference between these two photos ππ It doesnβt get much better than this! Long hair, skating shoes, plus- the top Iβm wearing is the brand logo for my bike π
But those years were some of the best years of my life π spent my days riding with friends no matter what the weather β Spending hours taking the bike apart and fixing it up π§
Believe it or not- this is actually the same bike. Just a new frame, wheels, bars, pedals, chain etc... πππ
Itβs good to look back on photos like these ππ

Quick throwback πππ€πΌ
I believe this was around September 2018 4 or so weeks out from the with when I won my first ever trophy ππ
I was due to compete in June this year.. but with all the uncertainty going on at the moment, it looks like it wonβt be happening πͺ
That being said- I know of some people who were deep into their prep when this situation arose π not Including the cancellations and possibly the !!! π±π±
So, for now itβs home training sessions πͺπΌ maintaining until the gyms are open ππ»ββοΈ then see how this year goes.. π
The most important thing above all this is to STAY SAFE! ππ» competing is great but it also weakens your immune system. Letβs stay as fit and strong as possible during this time! ππ€π»
Happy Thursday!
