One chapter closes.
The foundation remains.

GB was where Coach Jodie and Coach Colin first built their standards — where expectations were set, trust was earned, and a shared vision began. That chapter is complete.

Now that experience comes home.
Back to Heat. Back to leadership. Back to doing things properly.

This isn’t a step away.
It’s a step forward — together. 🔥

🔥 WELCOME BACK, COACH 🔥

Heat Women’s are proud to welcome Colin Barrett as Assistant Coach for the 2026 season — a familiar face, a trusted leader, and a key part of the Heat journey.

Having worked alongside Jodie Rushin for a number of years, Colin brings continuity, alignment, and a shared vision. His experience spans GB pathways, player development, and high-performance environments — with a reputation for detail, accountability, and standards that don’t slip.

Pure South African fire and hella experience shape Colin’s approach. After a year away from the game, he returns re-energised, locked in, and ready to make an impact once again. Calm when needed, demanding when it counts — and fully invested in building teams the right way.

Together, this coaching unit is aligned, experienced, and intentional.
Things done right. On and off the diamond. 🔥

🔥 WELCOME BACK, COACH 🔥

Jodie Rushin back as Head Coach for 2026.

After a year away from the game, Jodie returns with experience built through every level — GB pathways at U13 & U15, GB Fastpitch League competition, and national and club softball as a catcher and infielder. A former Angel, a proven leader, and someone who knows what it takes to build teams properly.

Blending South African fire with pure GB spirit, Jodie has led Heat Women’s before — and now she’s back to raise standards again. Organised, detail-driven, and intentional, she brings clarity and structure both on and off the diamond.

The team stayed competitive in her absence — now it’s time to push forward together. With her second in command alongside her, Heat Women’s are aligned, focused, and ready to compete.

Standards first. Impact everywhere.
Things done right. 🔥
