💪 Strong isn’t just a look — it’s a lifestyle.

Weight training isn’t about “bulking up” — it’s about building a body that carries you through life with strength, energy & confidence.

From stronger bones to a faster metabolism, improved posture, better mental health, and keeping your independence into your 80s and beyond… the benefits are endless.

You don’t have to spend hours in the gym or lift the heaviest weights in the room. Just start where you are, stay consistent, and remember:
✨ Progress over perfection
✨ Strength over size
✨ Health over hype

Your future self will thank you. 💜

💪 Why Women Should Lift Weights — It’s About So Much More Than Muscle!

Weight training isn’t just for building strength — it’s a powerhouse for your whole body and long-term health. Beyond the obvious muscle tone and strength improvements, weight training has a wide range of benefits for women - many of which are especially important for long-term health and quality of life:

1️⃣ Bone health & osteoporosis prevention 🦴
Resistance training stimulates bone remodeling, increasing bone density and reducing the risk of fractures and osteoporosis, which disproportionately affect women after menopause.

2️⃣ Hormone & Metabolism Support 🔄
Can help balance estrogen, progesterone, and cortisol levels, supporting menstrual health and easing some symptoms of PMS or perimenopause.

3️⃣ Fat Loss + Lean Muscle 🔥
Builds lean muscle, which increases resting metabolic rate—meaning you burn more calories even at rest.

4️⃣ Mental Health Boost 🧠💛
Boosts endorphin levels, reducing anxiety, depression, and stress.

Enhances confidence and body image by focusing on strength and capability rather than just appearance.

5️⃣ Everyday Strength for Daily Life 🛒👶
Makes everyday activities (carrying groceries, lifting children, climbing stairs) easier and safer.

Reduces the risk of falls and injuries, especially later in life, by improving joint stability.

6️⃣ Better Posture & Joint Health 🏋️‍♀️
Strengthens stabilizing muscles, reducing back, knee, and shoulder pain.

Protects joints by improving muscle balance and mobility.

7️⃣ Healthy Aging & Independence 👵
Slows down age-related muscle loss (sarcopenia).

Supports independence and quality of life in older age (think squats = sitting on the toilet and being able to get off independently into your 80's, 90's and beyond)

8️⃣ Performance Gains ⚡
Improves speed, agility, and endurance for recreational and competitive activities (for me this means keeping up with teenage and adult children now and potential grandchildren in the future)

✨ Bottom line: Lifting weights is one of the best investments you can make in your health — for now, and for decades to come.

🌟 Myth-Busting Monday: “Strength training will make you bulky” 🌟

One of the most common things I hear from women is:

💬 “I’d love to lift weights… but I don’t want to look bulky.”

Here’s the truth:

❌ Lifting weights won’t make you bulky — in fact, it’s one of the BEST ways to feel leaner, stronger, and more confident in your body.

Why?

💪 Put simply women don’t have the same levels of muscle-building hormones as men, so it takes a LOT of training, nutrition, and time to build large amounts of muscle mass. This also gets harder as we age.

💪 Among other things lifting weights increases strength, improves 🦴 density and connective tissue supporting your joints, improves posture, reduces the risk of chronic diseases and makes everyday life (think lifting bags, picking up and carrying children or moving furniture) so much easier.

💪 It helps keep your metabolism healthy — especially important in midlife.

Think of it this way:
🏋️‍♀️ Lifting weights won’t make you bulky — but it WILL make you stronger and more powerful.

So let’s stop worrying about “too much muscle” and start focusing on building the strength we deserve.

🌿 It’s been a while, so let me reintroduce myself! 🌿

Hi, I’m Michelle!

In midlife, a Mum to 3 (now grown-up), and I fully understand the many changes our bodies go through over the years. I'm passionate about supporting women in their journey to find strength, health, and wellbeing—while prioritising self-care and kindness along the way. 💪💖

Having juggled my own business, family life, a back injury, and feeling disconnected from my core, the last few years have been a journey back to strength. Through good movement, lifting, sleep, nutrition, and finally prioritising me again, I’ve been rediscovering my power… though, let’s be honest, it’s still a work in progress! 😅

Everything I’ve been through has shown me just how essential it is to prioritise movement, mobility, and avoiding burnout.

Those who work with me know that I’m all about:
✨ Lifting to bring strength into everyday life—so you can feel empowered and capable
✨ Prioritising health and wellbeing with intention, especially when life gets busy
✨ Taking care of yourself with confidence, kindness, and ZERO guilt 💕

Remember:
✨ Any movement is better than no movement at all
✨ Progress isn’t linear—take it one step at a time
✨ It’s never too late to feel strong, capable, and empowered in your body

Thank you for sticking around through the quiet months! As I relaunch this page, I’d love to hear from you. What would you like to see more of? 💬👇

Work, parenting, partnering, exercise, nutrition……all aspects of life may look different day to day but how much more can you do than the best you can each day?

I’ve been struggling with this recently and I know many clients, colleagues , people who are doing the best they can every day yet compare themselves to others, where they were a year ago, social media, others expectations and are not taking into account life challenges you may currently be dealing with.

Accepting that doing the best you can may look different everyday can take the pressure off and decrease overwhelm 💕
