YES… YOU CAN HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT. 🍰

I love my food.
I love cake.
And I also care massively about my health.

Those things can exist together.

I’m so tired of seeing grown women practically starving themselves, skipping meals, cutting out everything they enjoy and feeling guilty because they ate a piece of bloody cake.

And then comes the punishment…

“I’ll have to run that off tomorrow.”
“I’d better not eat tea now.”
“I’ve ruined my week.”

NO. You ate some cake. That’s it.

You don't need to earn your food and you certainly don't need to punish yourself for enjoying it.

I train because I want to be strong.
I walk because it’s good for my body and my head.
I eat nutritious food because I want to look after myself.

And sometimes I eat cake because I bloody love cake. 😂🍰

The secret isn't being “good” all the time.

It’s what you do most of the time.

Eat enough.
Eat your protein.
Eat your fruit and veg.
Drink your water.
Move your body.
Lift some weights.
Get your sleep.
Look after your health.

And when there’s cake?

Eat the cake. Enjoy every mouthful. Then carry on with your life.

That’s balance.

Not starving Monday to Friday and going mad at the weekend.
Not spending your life “on a diet”.
Not exercising to compensate for food.

Just a healthy lifestyle that actually has a life in it. 🩷

I'm far more interested in being strong, healthy, well-fed and happy than spending another decade worrying about whether I should have eaten the cake.

And yes… before anyone asks…

It was bloody lovely. 😂🍰

STRONG. HEALTHY. HAPPY. AND STILL EATING CAKE. 💪🍰❤️

53. And I’m Done With Fitness Bullsh*t.

And the older I get, the less interested I am in making fitness complicated.

I’ve coached women for years, and I’ve watched us be sold the same message in a hundred different ways:

Eat less.
Burn more.
Be smaller.
Cut this out.
Start again Monday.
Feel guilty when you don't get it perfect.

I don't want that for women.

I want us to train because we want strong bodies that carry us through LIFE.

To lift the suitcase.
Get up off the floor.
Climb the mountain.
Run around with the grandchildren.
Travel.
Have adventures.
Stay independent.

And yes, eat the bloody chocolate too. 😂

I'm 53. I care about how I look, I'm not going to pretend I don't.

But I care FAR more about what my body allows me to do.

Fitness shouldn't make your life smaller because you're constantly trying to control your body.

It should make your life BIGGER because your body is capable of living it.

That, after all these years, is what I believe coaching women should really be about. 🩷

Which one of these slides hit you the hardest?

Coffee with me this morning… what are we talking about?

Fitness? Confidence? Getting older? Menopause? Business? Family? Life? Or are we just having a good old gossip? 😂

I spend a lot of time on here talking to you… so this morning I want to hear from you.

What are we chatting about over our coffee? ☕️💗

MENOPAUSE CAN’T BE BLAMED FOR EVERYTHING

I started going through menopause in my late 30s and have taken HRT for around six years, so I’m not speaking about this from the outside, I’ve lived it myself for many years.

I know how transformational HRT can be for the right woman. But I’m becoming increasingly uncomfortable with the idea that almost every symptom a woman develops in her 40s or 50s must be menopause.

Tired? Hormones.
Brain fog? Hormones.
Low mood? Hormones.
Weight gain, palpitations, joint pain or poor sleep? Hormones.

Yes, they can all be connected to hormonal changes, but that doesn’t mean they always are.

Sometimes you’re exhausted because you aren’t sleeping enough. You may be awake during the night because of the w**e you drank before bed.

Your head may feel foggy because you’ve barely had any water or nourishing food. Your joints may ache because you’ve stopped moving and your body is becoming weaker.

Your mood may be low because you’re stressed, overwhelmed and never make time for yourself.

And sometimes weight gain happens because you’re regularly eating and drinking more energy than your body needs, not simply because menopause suddenly made you gain fat.

There may also be other health reasons behind these symptoms, so persistent or concerning changes should always be properly checked—, not automatically labelled as menopause.

🩷 ONE YEAR STRONG – KAYLEIGH’S STORY 🩷

One year ago, Kayleigh walked through my doors feeling, in her own words, “a bit lost.”

She’d just come back from an all-inclusive holiday, wasn’t feeling good in herself and although she’d trained at a gym previously, she’d found it boring.

She knew she needed something different.

Accountability. Focus. And somewhere she actually wanted to turn up.

But walking into a room full of women she didn’t know was daunting.

She’d experienced gyms before where there were big egos and everything felt like a competition.

What she found here was completely different.

“I’ve never once felt like this at Tracy’s Ladies. I feel welcome and supported by all the ladies.”

And over the last year, something much bigger than fitness has started to change.
