Coaching is not just about being told to follow X, Y and Z.

Weighing in once a week and hoping for the best.

Working with me is about supporting you every step of the way on your journey.

And that is not just about a diet and a workout plan.

It is about building a lifestyle that supports you - that you can maintain and enjoy.

It is about challenging you to step out of your comfort zone.

Yesterday, was the second client photoshoot that some of the ladies on my team completed

This photoshoot was not just about weight loss..

It was about proving to themselves that they could do it

It was about facing their fears

Challenging there limiting beliefs

And supporting each other on their journeys

One of the best moments for me coaching is getting to meet the people i work with in person

To celebrate their hard work

And to see the journey of them changing physically and mentally

Proud of every lady that took part yesterday and grateful to work with an incredible bunch of women.

Along with a huge thank you to Ben for helping make the day so special for each person and allowing them to see themselves in a different light!

When Olivia first reached out she was feeling unconfident in her skin.

Her clothes were fitting tighter.

Confidence had taken a hit and her energy was low.

She was struggling between balancing a full time degree, her social life, relationship and focusing on herself.

Sounds overwhelming right?

Olivia knew she wasn't happy.

And she knew doing nothing wasn't an option anymore.

Olivia wanted to feel fitter, stronger and happier in herself.

She wanted to get started in the gym but was nervous.

Feeling like she didn’t belong in the gym and was worried about what other people would think.

Now?

Olivia manages her final year of university alongside going to the gym regularly

Meals out and social occasions with friends are still included regularly!

Her confidence has skyrocketed and she is now wearing clothes that were at the back of the wardrobe!

The gym is now something that she enjoys!

And with a holiday around the corner with her boyfriend she couldn’t be more excited with her new found confidence and how she is feeling in her skin!

I need to make a confession.

I’ve been guilty of not practicing what i tell all of my clients to do.

One thing I am hugely passionate about is ensuring that all of my clients do is push themselves out of their comfort zone - it is so easy for us to get caught in the routine of doing the same things.

Not challenging ourselves to go that extra mile and try something new.

So, i’m always challenging them to push themselves - be it with a photoshoot, trying something new in the gym or hitting extra goals each week!

Yet, i found myself in the same routine each week. Not quite pushing myself to do more.

The thing about routine is its familiar, easy and comfortable!

It is easy to get caught in.

But if you want to continue to progress and change - you need to be challenging yourself.

Yet I found myself caught being stuck in my comfort zone!

So, that's when I decided to challenge myself!

This week I have gone back to pole dancing and have a heels class booked tomorrow! Something that terrifies me with two left feet - but that's the point!

I’ve started with new coaches both for my fitness journey, and for my business to ensure that I continue to keep pushing myself!

And have a photoshoot booked for 10 weeks time that absolutely terrifies me!

“I don’t have time to focus on myself right now”

The automatic answer that comes out of most ladies i speak to when they tell me about how much they want to feel more confident in their skin - but it just isn’t the right time for them

They tend to have an automatic idea in their head of what they need to do in order to finally lose the weight they’ve been trying to

The reason for this is because you’ve been made to think that weight loss needs to require hours in the gym and endless meal prep to get you anywhere

And after you’ve tried diet after diet that just didn’t work for you or your lifestyle - you gave up - you quit - feeling like a failure, feeling frustrated and deciding it just wasn’t for you

So, now you have these predetermined ideas in your head of what it will eventually take to get to a point you can feel confident and so you just put off starting. Instead, you place your energy on everyone else: looking after the children, your partner, work and friends. The problem with this is you end up being at the bottom of your priority list. You end up burnt out, frustrated and not feeling like yourself.

The thing is - there is only so long you can let yourself slide to the bottom of your priority list before it starts to impact how you see yourself and your relationships - maybe, you’ve already noticed this? Perhaps you now have a shorter temper than you used to before? Or you don’t want your partner to touch you because you feel uncomfortable in your skin?

Now, there is a way we can change this. It doesn’t have to be what you think its like.

I work with women running families, working two jobs or even still at university and the key thing we focus on is finding what is going to work for them .It is not about giving you another diet that you don’t enjoy and takes up too much time - this is about you.

From standing in the back of pictures to doing her own photoshoot! 

Abbie came to me and she didn’t believe that she could truly do this

She was doubting herself and her own ability

It felt like no matter what she did, how much she restricted and what she gave up - she was never going to get to that point of feeling confident in herself! 

She was dreading any social occasion and having to get ready for the day

Eventually, Abbie decided that she had enough of not seeing the changes that she wanted

Working so hard for no apparent reason

Abbie knew she needed some accountability and support to get her moving forward 

So me and Abbie started working together to give her that push she needed and to guide her through the process

This was done without hours of cardio, cutting out foods or avoiding date nights.

Abbie has entirely shifted her mindset from doubting her own ability to finding something that fits her lifestyle, she enjoys and is excited to progress in! 

She has gone from dreading photos of herself to being amazed looking back at the pictures!

Lottie took a huge step out of her comfort zone doing the photoshoot - something she could never have believed she would do! 

After working with me since the summer she knew that 2022 - she wanted to make sure that was stepping out of her comfort zone and pushing herself and that is exactly what did

Lottie had been in a routine of working out, and tracking her food but couldn’t understand why she wasn’t getting anywhere! 

So what did we do?

We started to focus on implementing progressive workouts that got more challenging each week to ensure that Lottie was pushing herself to progress

We set weekly goals to ensure that she was always on track and didn’t feel like she was in a rut! 

And we INCREASED food - Lottie was eating almost calories more than she was when we started working together before we worked towards the photoshoots

Lotti knew it would be challenging to step out of her comfort zone but she is an entirely different person now - filled with more confidence and a stronger mindset!

“Very self conscious I will admit but I sent it to bee and was on my way, after so many ups and downs I know I was starting to make progress again with healthier choices and a great exercise routine. Bee has honestly given me the confidence back that I know I had throw away all those years ago! And now to the last picture after almost a year with bee! This is where we are in my journey feel like I can actually look myself in the mirror and be proud of what I see!” 

Danni has been on an incredible journey. From starting her fitness journey with slimming world and although, seeing some initial changes - long term it just wasn’t working

She found herself getting frustrated in knowing what the next steps were - she was tired of feeling uncomfortable in her skin, and not seeing the changes that she wanted

And that was when she decided to break the rut and push herself out of the comfort zone

Initially, she’d spent ages following other people and seeing them make changes - changes she never thought she could make

But one day she decided to take that first step and see what she could really achieve

After an initial call talking over what Danni was struggling with - we came up with a plan to help her handle her very busy work life alongside her goals

Now Danni is consistently in the gym, prepping her food and building a lifestyle!

It didn’t need to be anything crazy

We just needed to find what would work for Danni - and find something that she could do consistently

Always setting new goals so that she doesn’t get in a rut again!

“I’ll never be able to thank you enough for everything you’ve already done for me and how you continually push me to be better and get out of my comfort zone!”

Emily started with me knowing that she could lose the weight but the thing she had never been able to do was to maintain her weight loss!

For Emily it was all about dieting, stuck in this constant YoYo dieting cycle and yet struggling to find something that fitted with her busy work schedule and she could enjoy

So, instead she fell into that trap of finding the next diet to try, regaining the weight and starting again

But she was frustrated by this cycle and knew that she needed to try something else!

When I asked Emily for a picture from the start of the journey she admitted that she had deleted most of the pictures - previously the one that hid from the camera - she never thought she would be the one standing in front of it for a photoshoot!

emily has had an entire mindset shift from just wanting to lose weight, to changing her entire relationship with food and finding a new love for workouts!

The best bit? The goal is no longer to diet!

Now, we’re learning how Emily never has to diet again

She can feel confident in herself all year round! We’re focusing on learning how to maintain her weight without needing to track and focusing on getting stronger!

This is not just a quick fix or a diet for Emily

Its a new lifestyle! Emily has entirely transformed how she sees herself, and now feels more confident getting dressed up, attending new social occasions - and pushing herself to do more!

What you’re missing from your journey isn’t a new diet plan, a new exercise programme, or some magic shake

The truth is quite simple

You’re just not consistent enough - a couple of weeks on and a week off

Monday to Friday perfect - and the weekend forgotten about

Constantly taking one step forward and two steps back

You’re never going to see the real changes that you want when you’re not being consistent

And i mean real consistency, not a few good days here and there

Challenge yourself to commit to something for months on end. Now, this doesn’t mean it’ll be perfect every day - but fully give your all to something before you look for the next quick fix

And if you’re not quiet seeing the changes that you want - ask yourself - why?

Have you really given your all to it? If the changes that you want to see are important enough then you need to make sure you are consistently showing up for yourself!

No words for how incredible today was!

Four of my ladies coming together to step out of their comfort zone and do something entirely different for them!

To going from being nervous to stepping in front of the camera to fully embracing it and feelinf confident by the end!

They have all been on such different journeys and none of them are done working on themselves yet!

But it was incredible to get everyone together and celebrate just how much they have achieved so far! Feel very lucky to be able to work with such amazing women that are always pushing themselves🥺❤️

The tough love is that there will be times on your fitness journey when you need to make sacrifices

But you get to make this choice.

You get to decide if you want to work towards a fat loss goal or building muscle - and so its on you to take action!

Evaluate your current behaviors and actions do they support where you want to get to

What is the gap between where you are now and your goals? What will you need to change in order to get there?

If you have a fat loss goal and it's really important to you - there may be times you need to compromise, plan ahead, and work around certain social occasions

Now, i don’t mean you need to cut out the things you love completely

But you may need to make adjustments and compromise

These changes don’t need to be huge

Just small adjustments to your every day routine that over time are going to add up to how you get to the position that you want to be in!

It could be adding in a step goal

Tracking your food

Swapping to diet mixers

All these tiny adjustments you can make to your current day to day routine are going to get you moving forward

If you start making these small changes imagine where you could be for summer!

Alice had done coaching plans before. She had got into shape before - and when she was in her early twenties she even managed to get to her smallest weight! But she still wasn’t where she wanted to be. And then after an injury she found herself thrown - she struggled to get back into it.

Alice had gone from Courtney Black to various coaching apps and yet - she still found herself feeling furstrated.

Alice came to me with a wedding looming over her and feeling unhappy. She was putting herself at the bottom of her priority list and it was having a knock on impact on her relationship, friendships and mood.

So when Alice came to me she was determined to make a change. She knew that on her wedding day she wanted to be able to feel her best.

But Alice wasn’t alone on this journey! Her partner was in a similar position of wanting to feel better about himself - he was the unhappiest he’d been in himself and it was impacting what he wanted to do.

So, this time we needed to make sure coaching went different for Alice.

Alice and Conner joined the team together!

Support is everything when it comes to reaching your goals so, having Alice and Conner onboard meant they were able to push each other and keep each other going even on the tough days!

Workouts became something they could enjoy together and they’ve both progressed from home workouts to joining a gym together!

They turned their favorite meals into healthier high protein options.

And each week they were kept accountable to keep pushing and challenging themselves - even whilst fitting in a busy social life!

The things you should know before you start working towards your “summer body” this year.

You’ve very likely dieted year and year again in preparation for the weather getting warmer and the dresses and shorts coming out.

Some years you may have managed to stick to it and lost the weight - but once you were at a place you felt comfortable you fell back into old habits

Other times you may have just been trapped in that YoYo diet cycle. Not seeing the changes you want. Spending another summer - not feeling like yourself.

Now, with summer being 12 weeks away i just want to remind you of some small things before you get started on yet another diet.

1. Dieting isn’t supposed to be forever. Get the result. Find a place you feel your best and learn the skills needed to be able to maintain this!

2. Just because you’re dieting does not mean you need to be miserable or cut foods out. Find something that you enjoy sticking to and this way you’ll be able to maintain it!

3. Set goals that are important to you and keep you going! Don’t worry about what you think your goals should be - find something that is important to you and has a big ‘why’

4. Think about what makes you happy - find that balance between getting to your goals and also be able to enjoy life! Although, it might need some extra planning and consideration - will you be happy if you avoid doing anything outside of your goals for this time?

Treat the lead up to summer a little differently this year!

How many times have you said this is going to be the summer you’re able to feel confident in your skin?

How many summers have you felt like you need to cover up? Worried about how you look?

Zoe began working with me in a place desperate to feel more confident in her skin with her wedding coming up

Previously postponed she knew she wanted to make the most of this time to feel her very best

Coaching wasn’t new to Zoe. She had worked with coaches before but struggled to stick it finding that it was fine - as long as she was motivated. She had managed to see changes, she had managed to lose weight - but had ended up back in previous habits.

With a stressful job, a busy home life she had found herself prioritizing herself less and focusing on everyone else before herself

She was missing meals and grazing throughout the day, skipping workouts and forgetting to do the things that made herself a priority

But when Zoe came to me she decided enough was enough. She didn’t want to feel like this on her wedding day.

Although, were not at the finish line yet - she was able to go away on her work trip and feel more confident in a swimming costume

She is consistently making herself a priority again taking the time for regular meals

Getting into the gym again

We’re starting to build on those habits that need changing

Recognising where her actions didn’t line up with her goals - to keep challenging herself, changing and progressing!

Sunday is the perfect time to sit down and review

Review the week - how is it gone? Are you happy with it?

Now the problem with this - is it takes a level of honesty with yourself

Something that can be tempting to try and avoid. We can often lie to ourselves.

Its difficult to admit that sometimes you didn’t do your best

But these real difficult thoughts are what’s going to get you closer to your goal

So this evening I want you to think..

Do your actions reflect your goals? 

Have you progressed towards your goals?

Could you have done more? 

What can you improve next week? 

This brutal honesty with yourself - allows you to constantly improve. Rather than just going through the motions and playing out the same weeks without progressing.

What are you going to do differently next week?

The thing is that you don’t need to give up the things that you enjoy.

You can still drink, go out on the weekends and spend time with your family - all you need to do is balance it.

This lovely lady started with me feeling frustrated.

Despite being restricted in the week and having low calories - she just wasn’t seeing any changes.

Monday to Friday she would manage to keep her calories low but she had a very social group which was based around drinking and meals out. She was very clear from the start- that this was something she did not want to give up.

For her it was a key part of her life - and in order for her to be able to sustain this journey, long term - she had to still be able to join in with her friends

So, this is what we did.

We banked calories throughout the week setting an average calorie goal for the week

We began tracking and being smarter around the weekends as to begin with she didn’t realise how over her calories these weekends were!

We started introducing weighted workouts which was something new to this client! Focusing on improve form with exercises and intensity over time

Just these simple changes led her to suddenly make the changes she just wasn’t seeing before.

Each week kept accountable and pushing forward with weekly check-ins and regular calls to help ensure that she was focused on her goals.

I’ve heard so many women convinced that they are a failure because in actual fact the diets they are following are low calorie, unsustainable and leave you feeling miserable

You end up convinced that this is just the way it has to be- how you have to feel

But the thing is it doesn’t have to be this way at all!

Fat loss may need some compromise but you can still eat all of the things that you are eating now

You can even go for dinners out, takeaways and buy lunch at work - nothing has to stop

You might just need a bit of extra planning ahead and compromise whilst chasing a fat loss goal

So, i want to help you realize that you don’t need to give up socializing
