Personal training for everyday living LTD

Posted on behalf of my wife, Robyn, as she’s not on FB.

I’ve been debating whether to post this or not. But I feel like I’ve worked really hard to be healthier and so I am.

Disclaimer - Our value as human beings doesn’t come form how we look or what we weigh (can someone tell society that?), it comes from who we are as people. This isn’t about body shaming myself or anyone else!

This is about more than weight loss.

I got into some really unhealthy habits. Eating food with little nutritional value, rarely exercising, drinking tea instead of water, my sleep was rubbish and often broken, I felt low in mood a lot and was often irritable. (Probably still have that last one!)

I wanted to change that and so I worked with Dan to create a healthier life style. And yes, the pictures show a drastic change, but the biggest changes can’t be seen in the photos. I feel happier, my sleep is much better, I have the energy and confidence to go and do things, I like the person I am now that I’m helping my body to be healthier.

It’s not been all sunshine and rainbows, but it’s not been the end of the world either. When I first started, I was dreading all the hard work, but now it feels normal.

So thank you Dan for turning something that was unthinkable, into something I -well, not enjoy, but maybe tolerate? 🤣

Today, I’ve turned 54. A scary number. At 54 you’re starting to be really OLD. And yet, I feel fitter, stronger and healthier than I have done in many years. For a long time, I’ve been struggling with aches and pains in my shoulders, my hips, my knees, my back. I thought exercise was out of the question because it would hurt too much and potentially do more damage. How wrong I was.
On 25th of August, exactly 10 weeks ago, I started my programme with Dan Glass. He gave me a (horrible) week long reset diet (which nearly killed me but it did wean me off cake, cola, brandy and other staples). After that I watched my daily calorie intake and had one half an hour session per week with Dan. Most days, I do a little session by myself but nowhere near as intense as the things that Dan makes me do.
After just a few weeks, my knees started to improve to the point that I can now run down the stairs instead of holding on to the banister for dear life. My shoulders don’t hurt anymore, my elbows are improving. Best of all, the dreaded night sweats (sorry, but they’re a real pain at my age) have completely stopped. My skin has improved and my confidence is soaring with every compliment from people who are noticing the change.
The sessions with Dan are never getting easier but they are getting more enjoyable as I notice my own progress. This weekend I’m starting the Couch to 5k programme and I’ve bought myself some heavier weights to keep the progress going.
Oh, yes and I’ve lost 9.5 kg (21 lbs) in 10 weeks. Dan is an incredible motivator who gets 110% out of me every time. He helped my son lose weight and find his confidence and now he’s doing his magic on me. 😊
I saw this Dan and thought perhaps it might be where I'm going wrong... 🤣
Dear Santa

2020 has been a dreadful year but please can Daniel be put on your naughty list for all the pain he had put his clients through.

A client with extreme DOMS
With the combination of a challenging relationship, terrible break up and suffering a long term chronic pain condition, my weight blossomed over the years with my self-esteem and confidence hitting an all time low.

I came across Dan after reading a work colleagues recommendation and got in touch. I was unsure he would be able to help due to my chronic pain condition, which has significantly impacted on any exercise regime I have attempted in the past, something I found increasingly frustrating as I use to be the girl in the gym several times a week or out running.

I explained my condition to Dan, who felt confident he could adapt any exercises according to my needs. We began back in August - I know, talk about bad timing with it being ice-cream season :).

Along the way we've battled my pain condition, trying not to aggravate it. I've injured my wrist playing rough and tumble with my son and an old ankle injury flared up. But I've lost a stone in weight and lost 11 inches across my body.

I still eat the occasional take away and chocolate bar, but I don't beat myself up over it. I've ran my first 5K event for charity, something I never thought was possible and most importantly I've gained my confidence back and I'm me again.

Dan's support throughout my journey so far has been faultless, he's always at the end of a text if I'm not sure about a recipe or just to check if something is a good option to eat. I would highly recommend Dan to anybody wanting to kick start a change in their life x
A massive thank you to Daniel Glass for his help in the last 6 months.Ok I never reached my goal but he’s helped me through my rehabilitation from my shoulder operation and improved my body fitness. He is an amazing guy and full of knowledge and a hard task master but gets results. Cheers Dan your a great friend and once again thank you!’
Within 10 weeks with Daniel Glass I went from a miserable couch potato with no confidence, in baggy shapeless clothes to someone who trained for and completed a 10k run, and my 5 year old daughter was so proud she took my medal to school for show and tell. I have had to buy a whole new wardrobe because I dropped 2 dress sizes, and bought colours and styles I would never have dared look at before. If you are thinking about it, don't hesitate, Daniel will give you all the expert advice and support you need, and he always so positive and encouraging, and he really knows his stuff and is clearly genuinely passionate about what he does. It is so convenient to have somebody come and knock at your door for an exercise session as it's all too easy to put off going out to an exercise class, finding an excuse not to go. You get out of this what you put in and if you follow Daniel's advice, the results could change your life, and changing your body is only half the battle, it's your mindset that will change forever as well. Thank you Daniel! 😀

What an inspiration! 🤩

I started working with Emma Bailey 7 and half weeks ago, she has had 14 personal training sessions and lost 2 stone and 23 inches!

Emma has made realistic changes to her eating habits and lifestyle… now she’s at the stage where moderation can be brought back into her routine. 🙌🏻

Just amazing

Way to go team Katrina 😍

Since January this year she has lost just shy of 8 stone and 46 inches (that’s over a metre)

No more words needed 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

What a year it’s been for this man! 👏🏻

4.7 stone lost and now running half marathons in just over 2 hours.

He started running 5k in 32:00 now 21:48 and 10k 1:10 now 46:00. He’s gone from strength to strength, it’s just so rewarding when you achieve what you thought was impossible!

Still think I’m 25… certainly don’t feel it 🥵

Bryony and Martin are 5 sessions into their training plan and have lost 25 pounds and 20 inches between them 🙌🏻

Hard work and dedication really paying off!

If you want to know more about my joint programmes please get in touch.

Let me introduce my man Chris! 🙌🏻

His goal was to reach 12 stone and just 7 weeks into his programme he’s already hit his target weight loss of 1.3 stone (17 pounds) and 19 inches from the body.

Time to reset those goals I think 😉🔥

Wishing everyone a happy mental health day… a reminder that if your struggling talk to someone

Always train to achieve those Gains, don’t waste your time staying in your comfort zone 😉🔥

Todays gym session consisted of,

Barbell squat rows - x3 sets 30kg - 10 reps
Barbell military press - x3 sets 30kg - 10 reps
Barbell roll outs - x3 sets 10 reps

Run 2:00 sets between weights 8 minute mile pace. Postural stretches (recovery)

Another client getting some results to be proud of 🤩

Sheryl has lost 37 pounds (2.6 stone) 20 inches from her body and she’s just over half way through her 10 week weight loss programme!

Even with small gaps in her training whilst she travels the world with work didn’t stop her from following the plan and losing weight!

Just awesome well done 🙌🏻🔥

Coffee break

My strongest belief is that exercise and weight loss can be achieved by anyone… !

This is Jackie, she is 78 years old and her goals were to lose weight for a knee operation. We started working together incorporating chair based exercise sessions that suited her capabilities, this Included Jackie’s favourite the Boxercise 🥊

Jackie has lost 1.7 stone and 13 inches… just goes to show that it can be done!

Good on ya Jackie 😃

This picture gives you a real insight into the work I do with my clients on a daily basis. 😍

I love training clients at their homes because they don’t have to go anywhere which makes it so much easier for them, even the kids love joining in…

Lucy started her weight loss journey 2 weeks ago and has already lost 3.5kgs and 11 inches.

If you want to know how you start losing weight and get some results that last long term please get in touch.

Whilst away still keeping up the fitness regime 💪🏻

A big well done to this lovely lady! 🔥

Emma is just 2 weeks into her 10 week programme and has already lost 11 pounds and 12.5 inches around her body! 😱

Those early results are so important to keeping you motivated and on track long term.

It’s all about making small changes in the short term to enable you to enjoy the treats later on without gaining weight or relapsing! 😉

If you would like to do the same and learn how to find life moderation that lasts, please get in touch 🙏🏻

Well what can I say about this man! 🤩

Kevin has just completed his 10 week programme, and lost 39 pounds (2.7 stone) and 23 inches from his body 🔥

Not bad for man of 59 years!

He has worked really hard and the before and after picture shows what you can achieve when you put your mind to it…Well deserved!

If you want to know more about how you can achieve the same as kev please get in touch.

If you have KFC the day before a workout I will sit on you… 😈 isn’t that’s right Debbie ?

Fancied something different today…

Swimming is going to be my new recovery after a gym session, feeling the muscle soreness fade away 😊

Today its my turn 🤣 I know im opening myself up for some abuse so bring it on….!

People ask me alll the time ‘have you always been fit’ the answer is no….

The first 15 year of my life I was carrying around 3-4 stone more than I should. Like all young people I loved to eat all the wrong stuff. When I turned 16 I started becoming more self conscious about my body and decided to make a change.

So, I bought some weights and literally started working out at home, creating my own exercise regimes partly inspired by magazines.

From then on I completely loved exercise and fitness, who knew it would take me on to pursuing personal training as my career…

To anyone out there of any age trust me you can make that change and who knows where it may take you! Back when I was 15 I never thought I would be torturing people for a living 😂

Would you like to lose 2 stone in 10 weeks and learn how to keep it off long term ??

Here’s just some of the lovely people that have changed their lives forever….🤩

They achieved their goals by following 5 simple steps…
- Made contact and asked for help
- together we set out a tailored plan to suit their goals.
- introduced exercise and followed a realistic food plan
- invested in themselves
- ex*****on and close weekly monitoring.

If your stuck in a rut and want to achieve your goals at home then please get in touch for more information.

And that’s a wrap!

I’ve completed my 100 miles (161km) ran throughout July for Cancer Research UK next time CRUK can you choose a cooler month please 🥵

Ran my first half marathon thanks to my man Daniel Parker-Hales, and fastest 5 miles ran for a year… I’ve realised I am definitely built for speed, so no marthons for me anytime soon… the bonus was losing 6kgs 🔥

I’ve raised £425.00 a big thank you for all those that have kindly donated. 🙏🏻

For my next challenge 100 days sleep

5 miles - 37.25 I will take that!

Time for a beer 🍺 cheers

You would think I would learn my lesson, well obviously not 🤦🏻‍♂️ ran another 5 miles in 27 degree heat, 25 minutes later and still sweating 🥵

Good news though 10 miles left to run before end of play on Sunday!

Day 13- quick 5km by the beach… still 26 degrees! 🥵🥵

A big thank you to all you lovely people 😁

Day - 10… Beautiful 6am start this morning with Daniel Parker-Hales my first half marathon 13.1miles in the forest…

Couldn’t of done it without my pace man pulling me round thanks Dan 😁🙏🏻

1 week in and 30.5 miles ran so far…..

Tonight was a mixture of sand, gravel, grass and tarmac 🥵

Long way from where I was 10 years ago but I will take that time.

Thank you to all those that have sponsored me so far it’s much appreciated.

This man is smashing his 10 week programme!

Kevin’s not even half way through, he’s had only 8 personal training sessions and has lost 23 pounds (1.6 stone) and 18 inches from his body.

Running a business and looking after his family made it more challenging to find the time to prioritise himself, and now he’s SO happy that he did 🤩

We can all make excuses to avoid reaching our goals, but just think how amazing it would be to actually achieve them 😉

Photos from Personal training for everyday living LTD's post 06/07/2022

Day 6- Up to 24.2 miles so far, and even got stung by a wasp on the way round 🐝

Great, now the wasps think I’m annoying 😆
