I had the pleasure of taking on the Spartan Trifecta with good friend and client Simon Tull last weekend.

We covered a lot of miles, conquered many obstacles and swallowed some unsavoury water at times. It was a blast.

A massive shoutout to this man, we have been working together for many years now and his output and approach to life is inspiring! I hope to be kicking a** as much as him in my 50s! Big up Simon 💪🏻

I am excited to announce I am opening more spaces to join the STRONG MAMA community! After the initial success I am now offering more sessions on Wednesdays.

This is small group coaching specifically programmed for mamas in the postpartum period.

STRONG MAMAS is designed to empower you to ease your way back into exercise after having a baby. The small group sessions are a judgement free zone.

We focus on strengthening your core and pelvic floor, incorporating low impact strength movements which help you rebuild your strength and fitness.

You will meet new mamas with similar goals and be able to do something for yourself without having to leave your baby. You just need to be cleared to exercise.

Look at the progress! 💥 Incredible work over 6 months to get these results not only physically but there has been a complete change of mindset for the better.

Let’s talk consistency because that’s what has been shown here.

Not perfection, just consistent action over a prolonged period of time.

An all or nothing mindset will not help you achieve long term results. We are humans we are not perfect, so doing something to work towards your goals is always going to win over doing nothing!

An update on client Stu…

We have been working together for 9 months and this is a recent comparison we’ve made in our check-ins.

This proves that the scale weight doesn’t define your progress or success. It is just a metric of measurement. The above 2 photos are similar in weight but completely different looks. This is the value of taking progress photos and celebrating what has been achieved over time.

We started our journey at 76.6kg and not so long ago saw lows of 72.6kg. We are now in a maintenance phase in the build up to Stu’s wedding day.

This is only the beginning.

There are many preconceptions about what you should and shouldn’t do in pregnancy. So let’s look at what the NHS recommends, which is 150 minutes of physical activity per week.

You may have been told if you were doing exercise previously it is okay to continue but you shouldn’t start something new when pregnant.

So I am here to tell you, that you can. What you do for the activity will be very person dependent, pregnancy is the time to tune in to your body and listen to it.

If you have no exercise experience you may start with walking, swimming or gentle yoga.

If you exercise a little and attend gym classes, you can continue to do this but make sure to let the instructor know you are pregnant so they can adapt exercises for you.

If you are an avid gym goer and enjoy lifting weights you can continue to do this adapting certain exercises as needed throughout your pregnancy.

Some exercises do need to be avoided such as contact sports, and certain modifications need to be put in place so you are not lying on your front or back after 16 weeks, although again this is person dependent and how it makes you feel.

Physical activity will help prepare your body for labour and birth. It will also aid your recovery postpartum. Not only that mentally it can help you feel good, empowered and strong. You will feel capable and ready to handle the new challenges ahead of you.

Here’s a Halloween challenge to sink your teeth into. The goal is to beat your ghost!

3 ROUNDS
6 devils press
10 zombie squats
16 cal bike
10 zombie squats
6 devils press

30 second rest between rounds.

You must beat your time from the previous round to continue. If not, you’re out! Add your 3 times together and this is your score.

Pace yourself and don’t go out too hot! If you give this a go tag us and share your score.

It’s crazy to think this was us a year ago!

We originally purchased some barbells and plates because lockdown had taken away our ability to train and we decided to invest in ourselves.

The freedom this gave us let our minds wonder, hours, days and weeks later. The idea was set… let’s build a f**king gym. No more paying rent for space, we’ll just make our own.

Forward on a year and we really couldn’t be happier with how things are going. We are so grateful for all the support with this weekend marking the start of our bootcamp…

The dreams and goals only get bigger. There is still so much more to come…
