Have had to keep my mouth shut for like a week 😂 Super excited to join forces with these guys!
I use the tailwind nutrition for long runs + cycles, OCR races aaaaand when @teamgrit.ocr coach Sean adds in some beasty conditioning sessions!
Have never got on with gels or food for longer sessions- i wanna puke like 2 mins after eating it 💁♀️ but dont have that problem with this which means i can take on the calories and much needed carbs + power through 💪🏻
Plus aaaaaaall their products are vegan friendly, including the recovery range 😍🌱

Coming at you with a fatloss tip for those getting started this Jan!
🥕Dont change everything at once/do a massive overhaul of diet and exercise!! Probs one of the biggest mistakes, you go from no exercise to planning 5 workouts a week and barely eating anything = burn out, guilt and eventually quitting.
🥕Small manageable changes make a huge difference!
🥕For instance if your coming from 0 exercise increasing your daily steps can make a massive difference.
🥕If you want to get into the gym then 2 workouts a week is a great start!
🥕Changing up your breakfast could make a huge weekly difference if you usually have a pastry with a caramel latte with extra syrup and cream 💁♀️
It doesnt have to be complicated or crazy 😊

If your goal is to run a 5km or PB on a lift- book an event!! Itl give you a clear time frame of completion and a reason for your training! 💪🏻
If your goal is fatloss you could book a photoshoot or have a special occasion in mind where you get to wear something amazing!💁♀️
Always have something to aim for! Sometimes things dont go to plan- one of my goals from this year was to run a half marathon again after a knee injury- knee still wasnt having it so its one to build on next year. But theres always a positive…
I did however hit my first Spartan Podium EEEEE! 🥉 Onwards to those 🥇🥈 next year 💪🏻

🎄Day 2 of the 12 days of Fitmas! Vegan Peppermint Bark🎄
Obviously in no way healthy but lifes all about balance. Yes we all have fitness goals and food its a huge component but again there is a balance there!
If were so wrapped in counting kcals and not eating this or that that we forget to enjoy the lil things sometimes whats the point. Ive been there and can tell you its not fun 💁♀️ So enjoy these Christmas treats, i will be 😍
🎄250g vegan white choc
🎄250g dark choc
🎄3 Crushed candy canes
🤶Melt the dark choc either in the microwave or over a pan of hot water. Then in a tray lined with baking paper layer on the dark choc. Let this set in the fridge for a few hours then go back and do the same with the white. Before putting in the fridge to set, sprinkle on the crushed candy canes!
Once set chop into bark pieces. Makes a fab gift too 🧑🎄

Why do you lift weights? So i can bicep curl the Christmas Tree obvs 💁♀️😂
But everyones reason is gonna be different! Whilst being able to carry the tree by myself was v empowering theres loads of reasons i love weight training. Ive met a fair few women recently who had no idea of the benefits too so heres one for them 😊
🎄 You wont turn into the hulk but you will get that ‘toned’ look you want by using weights to strengthen and grow the muscle! Women have significantly less testosterone than men so its actually supeeeeer hard to grow giant biceps- believe me ive been trying for years 😂
🎄The more muscle you have the more kcals you burn at rest so even if your on a weight -loss journey weights are 100% for you, cardio will only get you so far but lifting can dramatically change body composition if done right!
🎄Lifting weights definiteeeeely helps with mental health! If ive had a bad day the first thing im doing is going to lift something heavy. Its empowering, a confidence booster and gets you back in the drivers seat to sort out whatever the problem was.
🎄Your clothes will fit better, metabolsim will be boosted and you can improve posture too.
🎄 If that isnt enough to convince you to try, you’l be perfectly capable of lifting your own Christmas Tree, no help required 💁♀️

🍌Banana Peel Burgers 🍌 Bear with me on this one cus im fully aware it sounds crazy but its surprisingly good!! 😂
🍌2 bananas (should be yellow, still firm and not quite ripe!)
🍔Peel the bananas then with a spoon scrape put any left over banana on the peel. Then using a fork shred the peel into strips.
🍔Once its all in strips pop it in a bowl and add all the spices- leave for a couple of hours in the fridge.
🍔In a non stick pan add a tiny bit of water the add in the spiced banana peel. Add in some bbq sauce and cook for 5 mins.
🍔Add it to your burger with coleslaw!
🍌The awesome thing is that its made from something we would usually throw away! So if you hate it you lost nothing 💁♀️ The peel is also full of antioxidants too 😍
🐟Chickpea ‘Tuna Mayo’🐟
If your thinking that sound weird, bear with me cus i thought the same and its actually really tasty!! 😍 Makes a great sandwich/bagel filling, jacket potato topping or just in pasta as a pasta bake 😁
🌱 1 tin of chickpeas (240g)
🌱30g Vegan mayo (i used hellmans 😍)
🌱1 chopped Spring Onion
🌱70g frozen sweetcorn
🌱Juice from 1 lemon
🌱Tsp dried Dill (this gives it the slightly fishy flavour)
🌱Sprinkle of salt + Black Pepper
🐟 Drain the chickpeas then crush them in a bowl until theyre all squished. Add in the chopped spring onion, lemon juice, seasonings, cooked sweetcorn and the mayo. Stir it all together and serve! You can heat it if youd rather it was warm 😋
🐟 Serves 2: 256kcals|21.6g carbs |8.9g protein|14g fat 🐟
🍔Homemade Vegan Bean Burgers🍔
So im usually not a fan of bean burgers- probs cus when i first went vegan i swear they were the only thing people put on the menu🙈 But theseee are actually really nice and pretty easy to make! Theyre Phil’s weekend speciality and stop us spending money on takeaway most of the time 💁♀️
🌱 2 cloves garlic
🌱Liquid Smoke to taste
😋Chop everything then blend all ingredients until mixed. Put in fridge for 30 mins.
To shape burgers make sure you have wet hands; shape into burger shapes.
Fry on both sides, 5 mins each! Serve in a bun with your fave fillings 😋
Serves 2: Kcals 186|Protein 10.9g| Fat 2.3g Carbs 23.4g
🌱Homemade Vegan Protein Squares🌱
These are super simple to make and require 0 baking! Was inspired by @abcdefghijkleila_ and super curious about what vitafibre was 💁♀️ Turns out its a sweet natural fibre, low cal and great for baking! Heres what i put in mine:
🌱200g Vitafibre (from @myprotein )
🌱150g Vegan Protein Powder (i used vanilla @scimx )
🌱150ml soy milk
🌱40g @pushchocolate buttons
😋 Mix the top 3 ingredients together then add in the choc buttons. Pat it all down into a baking tray and put in the fridge for a few hours. Cut into 9 and voila 😋
Serves 9: 134 kcals| 14.2g protein|5.8g carbs|2.1g fat | 22.1g fibre
