How Strong are Your Legs – and why it matters for Alzheimer’s prevention…
A very strange but proven anomaly in the Alzheimer’s research is that across thousands of individuals, leg strength has been consistently shown to be one of the best clinical predictors of healthy cognitive ageing and Alzheimer’s prevention.
More specifically, the better the leg power, the greater the brain volume, the better the cognitive agility, recall and ability and the better the cognitive ageing over the next decade in a way that is protective of Alzheimer’s causing mechanisms.
This is such an important predictor that the research stresses the importance of intervening to specifically target and strengthen our leg muscles on a daily basis via walking and also specific leg muscle targeted exercises on a weekly basis.

That's a wrap folks.....my last class before Christmas! Time to hang up my antlers, elf socks & Christmas jumper for another year. It has been a funny old year to say the least, so it has been lovely to hear this week, what my classes have meant to people over the last twelve months; helping to keep them fit & mobile, but also healthy physically & mentally. The mindful nature of Pilates & also the social aspect to our classes too, have at times proven to be the most beneficial parts to a class for us all. Never underestimate what it also means to us as teachers, to spend that hour each week with you 😊 I wish all of you a very merry & safe Christmas. It has been an absolute pleasure teaching you all this year. May the new year bring you much happiness & here is to brighter days ahead. Merry Christmas 😘 xx
