Did you know that Gayle and April have been body therapists since the 90’s 😱 (we know they don’t look that old 😉) and have and have been teaching in private and FE education for over 20 years?
They have many different qualifications in massage and wellness therapies as well as specialist training in assessment and quality assurance. So to say they are experienced is a bit of an understatement.
They also only work with therapists they have personally vetted and trained.

Of all the alternative therapies available, more and more research is showing that massage therapy provides real benefits to people dealing with a number of health conditions, including fibromyalgia. A study in 2011 showed that massage therapy caused reductions in sensitivity to pain at tender points in patients with FM, as well as lowering anxiety levels and increasing quality of sleep (Castro-Sancez, et al., 2011)

Another study from 2014, which systematically reviewed nine other studies about massage therapy and FM, found that massage therapy had immediate beneficial effects on improving pain, anxiety and depression in patients with FM (Li, et al., 2014)

At Sustain Therapy we’ve seen a big increase in clients who are experiencing insomnia, mental fatigue, headaches, anxiety and increased stress levels, which can all present itself in a physical form, such as skin rashes/conditions and general tension in the head, neck and upper back.
Aromatherapy is known to reduce the perception of stress, increase contentment and decrease levels of our stress hormone cortisol, whilst the application of massage provides relief of muscular tension and induces deep relaxation.
From 13th May we will be offering the ‘Ultimate de-stress Aromatherapy back and scalp massage’ ~a 30 minute treatment using a special de-stress blend of oils at the introductory price of £27. 💧Pre loading our bodies with water to avoid dehydration isnt an effective strategy for most people- rather once we are fully hydrated the body has to ditch any excess, usually through urination. Try and drink fresh water little and often to sustain adequate hydration levels and keep your body working optimally. Aim for 6-8 glasses a day, and more if you’re particularlyactive and/or training.

Adequate hydration helps to regulate body temperature, keep joints lubricated, prevent infections, deliver nutrients to cells, keep organs functioning properly and can help sleep quality and mood. 💧
