Studio update: Coronavirus has hit small businesses across the Southampton very hard, and we are no exception. It is with a heavy heart that we have decided we will not be reopening Studio17 for bookings.

However, the space is too good for the doors to be shut forever so instead, we are looking for someone to take over the space for another purpose. The specifications of the Studio mean it can be changed into pretty much anything – a shop, a creative workshop, a barbers, fitness studio, the opportunities are endless.

The Studio is available now and some of the features include:

⭐️Air conditioning
⭐️Toilet and reception areas
⭐️Plenty of parking
⭐️City centre location

*COVID-19 update*

Further to our message last week and the recent developments regarding the COVID-19 virus, we have taken the decision to close Studio17 for the foreseeable future in order to protect our clients, their members and our staff.

As soon as is safe to re-open, we will.

We would like to encourage everyone to follow the Government advice and guidelines and only go out if you need to, and if you do go out, keep a safe distance from each other.

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

COVID-19 Coronavirus Information.

Dear all,

We are writing to update you on Studio17's position regarding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak.

This is obviously a very worrying time for a small business however, the main priority is to ensure the health and the safety of all our clients, their dancers and participants and their families.

We are monitoring the situation and will follow the official guidance from the authorities.

We will keep the Studio open as long as possible and operate as normal, while increasing our cleaning at the Studio.

However, we recognise that most of our clients will stop their sessions if the schools close. If this happens, we will close the Studio, until schools and clubs are allowed to reopen.

Until then, we ask that everyone who comes into the Studio follows the below advice;

*Please wash your hands regularly. Studio17 has facilities to enable this.

* If anyone experiences any of the known symptoms please seek medical advice and don't attend any classes at the Studio until you have spoken with a medical professional.

* If you are tested positive for COVID-19 please self-isolate and continue to listen to the advice from medical professionals.

This is a fast-evolving situation and we will update you on this situation when we feel necessary.

Hello and welcome to a new week!

We thought we'd reintroduce ourselves this morning as we've had a few new people join the page, which is fantastic.

Studio17 started a few years ago when Paul and Glenn saw the types of rehearsal spaces their daughters trained in. They wanted to provide a state-of-the-art studio space that provided fantastic facilities for dancers of all ages to use.

Some months later, Studio17 was opened.

We love to see lots of different groups use the space. Dancing, yoga, children's groups, fitness classes...everyone is welcome.

We are really excited to welcome Mind Body Soul Fitness to Studio17.

Starting on Tuesday 29 October MBSF will be offering a women only full body workout class designed to help improve physical, mental and emotional health. This first class is FREE!

A safe place for women to work together towards building confidence, feeling sexy, and working to be the best possible version of themselves while having fun in the process!

The workouts will hit most muscle groups in the body as well as working on cardiovascular health, endurance, stamina, agility, stability, flexibility and strength. Suitable for all fitness levels.

Yesterday was National Fitness Day.

As you know, we are big on fitness at Studio17.

We are really excited to welcome a new fitness class to the Studio this afternoon.

Between 4.45pm and 5.45pm Ani will be holding a total body HIIT session.

You will get a great workout and feel like you've really achieved something by the end. The session will use interval training to improve agility, coordination, stability and core.

No equipment and weights needed - just you and your will power.

First session is free! See you there!

Yesterday, we received a lovely message from Streicher Dance Company who have just been named Dance Company of the Year at the London Prestige Awards.

Two years ago we opened the doors and it's been both a challenging but a very rewarding experience.

The latest challenge is - how can we help?

Well, we can help you by providing a state-of-the-art rehearsal, training or practice space whenever you need it.

We designed it for all types of activity - dance, yoga, martial arts, baby groups, fitness sessions....the list goes on.

Unlike a lot of dance and training venues, we do not have set opening times. The Studio is available when you want it, just book it and we will give you the key code to get in.

Our promise is that we will ensure that it is clean, tidy and all the mod cons (air conditioning, surround sound etc,) work, when you arrive.

We hope you're enjoying challenge and getting some behind-the-scenes info about the Studio.

Today is to highlight the tools we cannot live without....and there are a few:

Parking spaces are essential for all the people attending classes at the Studio (thankfully, we have plenty) 🚗
Cleaning equipment to keep the Studio clean and tidy for our clients, as demonstrated by Eva 👇

Today's post is to describe a typical day....ours is pretty simple....

Paul and Glenn arrive at the Studio and make sure its in a clean and tidy state for the bookings we've got in that day and make any adjustments needed.

Our clients are given the key code to the Studio to let themselves in.

Paul and Glenn are then getting on with whatever F&M Engineering work they've got to do that day. Their workshop is next to the Studio so they don't have to go too far 😃

We like to build up trust with our clients so they can use the Studio as they need it. If they need anything, one of us is never to far away to help, but generally, we let them get on with whatever class they've got running.

We are going to combine two challenges today.

The first is to share some advice that was given to us and this was to invest in the sprung floor. When we decided to build the Studio, we sought lots of advice from various dance groups and teachers and they all said 'please get a sprung floor'. We've already posted about our blog about it below 👇

The second is to share our inspiration. And this is an easy one! Both Paul and Glenn (the owners) daughters love dance and fitness activities.

They could see how much fun and enjoyment Eva and Violet had when dancing and wanted to ensure that all abilities and ages have the opportunity to get involved in different forms of dance and exercise in one of the best facilities in Southampton. So they built Studio17.

Earlier today we posted about our best product as part of challenge, which was the studio itself.

A shining part of the studio is our 64ft Harlequin sprung floor.

Day 5 of challenge is to talk about your best selling product...well we only have one....the studio itself.

Studio 17 has a 640sq ft Harlequin Sprung Dance floor, Harlequin Ballet Barres and floor to ceiling mirrors.

Air conditioning, surround sound, free wifi, iPod connectivity and phone charging points are also available and importantly, it has lots of FREE parking which provides a secure area for parents to pick up and drop off their children.
