Lose yourself for an hour, with the latest exercise programme to hit the UK. Created by Paul Mavi, this programme takes a mix of "Bo" = light boxing and "Kwa" for the traditional South African traditional Kwaito to make the BOKWA programme as it is today. It uses a range of numbers and letters to signify moves, which you then draw on the floor with your feet, so if you see it you can move it. A pr

Oh my, what a fun time we've had over the past few years.
How many would like to go back to basics and begin their fitness journey again?
My current class is pitched at beginners and returners, it's simple but effective and includes a mix of styles and moves.
We'll start gentle and build gradually.
Who wants to start their journey?
Tuesday 6pm at West Totton Centre. No need to book, just bring your enthusiasm, a drink and a sense of humour.
Comfortable clothing and supportive shoes will help too.

Go on, It's time to move.

On tonight. Love this.
Who wants to learn the iconic dance? I've been teaching it for years.
Show off at parties. It's so much fun.
Disco line dance.

I'm not over-advertising these classes as yet (if I am advertising at all ;-) ) as I am keen to get back up to speed with confidence and movement on a smaller scale before we head back to masses descending after the lockdown lifts. (I wish). So tonight for £4 we will be doing, again a slower, continuous aerobic/fat-burning/toning session. We will sweat, we will be heavy breathing, we will test your coordination and right from left. We will have a laugh and we will be back again next week to do it all again.
See you at West Totton Centre at 6pm.

Now I know there's a little matter of a football game at 5pm. which is darned inconvenient for a 6pm class, BUT, I shall be at West Totton Centre having watched the first half, so that I can get rid of all the anxiety about the 2nd half and the potential for penalties.
If you too would like to avoid this stress please come along and join me. Will see you there :-)
Remember as a public building you need a face mask in the communal areas.

I have ‘pandemic brain’. Will I ever be able to concentrate again? 25/06/2021

So... what are you waiting for... Time to get moving again. Pick your exercise of choice and just do it.

"There’s ample evidence that physical activity improves cognitive functioning, too. Exercise increases neuroplasticity – or, the brain’s adaptability to experience and change"

I have ‘pandemic brain’. Will I ever be able to concentrate again? When lockdown hit, I became distracted, unfocused – and overwhelmed. But there are ways to recover

Fabulous class this evening ladies, many thanks for the "trial" session, we will be doing it again next Tues. Well, potentially same thing but different. Was definitely hot when we finished, so slow and steady did the trick. Hope the legs don't ache too much from the squats.😳
Anyone else interested please let me know, next week will be £3 only. July £4, August onwards back to £5 a class.
Make the most of next week. :-)
Think this video is what we need to try out to keep cool.

After a lot of nerves and confidence crises, together with an increase in waistline and decrease in fitness. We are back.
Come wobble the flab with me while we get back into the swing of it.
It'll be tough, but it'll be fun.
£5 the class while we reinvent ourselves.
It'll be a combination of moves, maybe Bokwa, toning, walking wobbling. We can do this. Time to step up and make a move.
Bring a towel and water. (Not for swimming, for sweating)

6pm Tuesday 22nd June at West Totton Centre. I am going to move to music and get you lot involved too.
If you too have struggled for months to get motivated to move, please come and join me and let's build back our motivation together.
We all know we need to do some exercise to keep us mobile in the future, so we will start gently and build up gradually.
It will have music, it will be gentle, it will be simple, it may make you breathe a little more deeply and you may get a bit warm, but it's the first step back to regaining some fitness for those of us who have been neglectful.
We will walk, tap, reach, stomp, wiggle, turn and stretch. Think that covers most of it ;-)
Note it in the diary.

I am in two minds whether to return to a class. There are many out there delivering fitness classes these days, and I wonder if my low impact gentle re-entry to fitness will be something people need or want.
If you are thinking of doing something but not sure, would you be interested in a "return to exercise" for post lockdown getting mobile again?

I've been out of action, i.e. not teaching now for a year. Sadly my set up didn't lend itself to being able to do Zoom classes live for people, and so things just slipped away.
It's now time to think about going forward.
After such a long break, what do people want to go back to?
Are there loads like me who want a "gentle" return to fitness?
Would people enjoy a toning/fun/dancy session?
I am being asked if I want to take back my old time slots at West Totton Centre, so who has moved on and who would like to come back and see if we can regain our fitness? Feel free to DM me with your ideas.
Tuesday 6pm was originally class time.
(Can't guarantee the man comes with the class though - sorry)

I've currently no plans to restart exercise classes. But I do need some challenges. Watch this space.
