Sunday Fixtures

Next up this week are the Warriors!

A very wet day, slipping and sliding but some great football from the team today,

Bringing training into the game with the passing & some great runs from our wingers.

Great effort all round, we didn't get the result we wanted but despite being wet and cold they didn't give up.

Avengers travelled to Stoneham for their fifth game of the season.

We were only able to to field seven players but our opponents, looking for a good game of football and pitch time for their players lent us a rotating pair for the game

This was a tough match. We struggled to find our form in the first half, and conceded goals, and struggled to get out of our half.

The team, instead of getting despondent, rallied themselves, pulled together and played a hell of a second half. The opposition coach commenting that this was the first team they’ve played that have really pressed and challenged them whilst they were on the ball.

We didn’t get the result we wanted, but we had some stunning moments from every member of the team. From cracking saves, strong defensive performances, excellent midfield tackles and beautiful line breaks from in coordination with the wingers and striker.

Rebuild and go out stronger next week 💪

9:30 kick off for the Prime team, here is Matt with the match rundown!

Another great game for team Prime today, always one goal ahead from the first kick off.

But the opposition were a determined team and kept nipping at our heels the whole way, drawing level at key moments in the game.

Ultimately a deserved draw for both teams with some wonderful football and great support around the pitch.

Parent player - Josh for an outstanding effort on the right wing bagging himself 2 goals.

Managers player - Ryan who showed great resiliance in an unfamiliar position today and showing a great team ethos throughout the game.

Well done all.

Last but not least...The Blades!

Great day for the blades today. With new faces who haven’t trained or played with the team we couldn’t ask for a better start. Going into the top league we knew it was going to be tough. First up the promoted league winners from last season. What a a great team effort by all to hold the team to a 0-0 with some great last ditch defending and some brilliant saves. Onto the next match straight after we had just finished and despite the end to end game we claimed the win with an excellent team goal winning the game 1-0. Keep up the great team spirit.

Here is Josh and the U16 Phantoms!

Very difficult day for the U16 phantoms today. Going into today’s game missing 3 players and playing with 4 players against some top teams. Every single player put 100% effort in and should be extremely proud despite losing all 3 games. Keep up the good work and the results will come.

Next is Craig and The Avengers

A loss against a strong, and challenging opponent today.

The first half saw goals on both sides, keeping each other at level pe***ng, before our opponents were able to outpace us and got the lead. Regrouping at half time we bagged a couple of extra goals, driving our opponents to dig deeper as we drove towards equalising again.

They rose to the challenge and we're ultimately able to see us off. It was a very physical and demanding game with each avengers player putting in the full 60 minutes.

Our team played really well - defensively, through to the midfield and wingers, crosses into the box converted into goals. The solid foundations for continued success in the future.

Onwards and upwards - let's go, Avengers!

Next up is Lee and the Tigers!

Tigers played a very good game today, against a strong, evenly matched team.
Play was difficult today with the pitch grass very long, which stopped a lot of passes for both teams.
The opposition won a penalty mid way through the first half, which saw Tigers go 1-0 down. A better start to the 2nd half and the returning OH strong run from midfield, scored and made it level 1-1.
The game could have gone either way, and Tigers added pressure up top but could get a clear chance to get another goal.
With 30sec to go, the opposition pushed in to the box, the ball bobbling around and snuck the ball over the line for their 2nd.
2-1 to the opposition.
