Many thanks for everyone’s support with our fancy dress week and Tapathon event. We raised a fabulous £214.00 which has been paid to the Children in Need Charitable Trust.

Fancy dress week was absolutely great with a host of amazing costumes but the class prize goes to the originality of grade 6 modern who all came dressed as their Dads. Well done!! We await confirmation of our record breaking attempt for as many dancers tap dancing the same routine simultaneously nationwide - fingers crossed!!

Congratulations and a huge thank you to everyone who took part in our Tapathon today!! Great fun was had whilst raising money for BBC Children in need plus attempting to break the Guinness Book of records for the most people dancing the same routine simultaneously nationwide!!! Well done!! 👏👏

Hope everyone had a fantastic summer break and ready now to leap back into dance. Lessons begin tomorrow and we are so looking forward to seeing you all again!!! Exciting times ahead with lots to look forward to. So let’s dust off those shoes and dance into Autumn!!!

How was your summer?!! We hope you’ve all had a lovely break with lots of rest and recuperation! We are excited to see you all next week and want to remind you that we now have LAMDA Acting Musical Theatre, Verse and Prose, Devising acting , mime and public speaking available in 1:1 2:1 and small groups for younger students beginning in September.

What a marvellous week culminating with a fabulous show. Well done and thank you to everyone who took part, the wonderful team who made it possible and of course our audience. A few photos of our dress rehearsal just before the big event. Happy holidays to you all!!!

INTRODUCING LAURA MORRIS OUR FABULOUS NEW TEACHER

Laura started dancing at 3 years old and immediately fell in love with it!! She had much success competing in competitions, performing in shows and pantomimes before going away to the prestigious Bird College to continue her training. Laura realised that her passion was teaching and has now taught for local schools whilst training for her ISTD DDE exams as well as achieving Pilates teaching qualifications. We are so excited to welcome Laura to our school and look forward to working together.

Congratulations to all our fabulous pupils yesterday on their excellent dance display at Rownhams St John’s Primary School. So proud and grateful to you all for your dedication and hard work. You are all amazing!!! Thank you x

As we draw nearer to the end of term I would like to announce that after many years Caroline has decided to move onto pastures new and take up a new position. I wish to thank her for all her work and dedication and wish her well in her new ventures. However, on a positive note we now welcome Laura Morris a dynamic and enthusiastic young teacher who will be joining us for Summer School and beyond.

Well done and thank you everyone on a fabulous performance at Halterworth this afternoon!! You did us proud! Same again next week please!! 👏👏👏👏👏

Wow!! We made it into the Romsey Advertiser!

What a lovely day we had at Rowlands Castle Jubilee Picnic. Our fabulous Maypole team gave two perfect performances and when we invited audience members to join the final number and we had such an amazing response we had to do it twice!!! Thank you so much to everyone at Rowlands Castle for making us so welcome. They have already booked us for next year!!

We were delighted to visit The Rainbow Centre today and present them with a cheque for £2,500. Raised as a result of our amazing production of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”. Our talented performance group danced for some very appreciative parents and children who attend the centre and benefit from the great support this wonderful charity provides. Congratulations and a huge thank you to everyone who took part in or helped in any way to make Charlie and the Chocolate Factory such a triumph. xx 

We are delighted to welcome Jenni Church to our team. Jenni was one of my original pupils who has had a career as a professional dancer and performer. I am particularly pleased that she is returning in the role of teacher. Many of you will already know her from summer school. Jenni is excited to bring all her experience and enthusiasm to the school.

Wishing everyone a truly delicious Easter break. Looking forward to seeing you all for an exciting summer term of dance and fun. First day back 25th April. See you then.

Today was incredible watching our dance show "Charlie and the Chocolate factory" on the big screen. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful experience with us, it was lovely to see so many of you. We are so proud of what everyone achieved. The hard work was immense but it was worth it as the show really was extraordinary. Thank you also to Lauren and her team for creating such an amazing video for us. We really appreciated it and feel very lucky to teach such lovely and talented pupils. Thank you everyone ###

Jane Mackinnon School of Dance offers classes in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, Street and Stretching classes for all ages and abilities from our special tinies class for under 5's to our many Adult classes and everything in between.

We promote dancing as a great way to keep fit and make friends. As a potential career for those wishing to study more seriously or simply to enjoy the pure joy of dance.

Classes take place at Nursling and Rownhams Community Centre and Village Hall and we would love to invite everyone to attend free tasters of any dance genres they would like to try.
