A great opportunity for our Young Saints today, fielding a full 8-man squad for a one-off ‘Under 14 Challenge Match’ against Poole.
Our Saints took the win with Poole only able to take 2 heats whilst suffering advantages across the 18 heats. Some great riding by our young team, proving their talent and skills and a very positive future for Southampton CS and Cycle Speedway.
Congratulations to our Saints!

Rounding off the S&SW League and the 2025 season with a win at home against our neighbours Poole.
A close match which saw Saints a point down at the interval to then pull to a 9-point lead after 18 heats whilst suffering two exclusions. A big well done to our Division 1 Saints for securing 2nd in the S&SW League, a valiant effort to defend the 2024 victory.
Congratulations Saints!

A quick look back at our Saints 2025 Cycle Speedway World Championships adventures...a success for the International team riders with both Maddie & Leon Penketh picking up 3 Golds each, 2 for England in the World Cup & World Best Pairs plus Federation Cup success for GB , Gav picked up 2 Golds World Cup for England and Fed Cup for GB whilst Sonny Whale & George Whale picked up Golds for GB too in the Fed Cup Joe Gillespie was part of the Ireland team that narrowly missed the podium in the World Cup & Best Pairs events
Two Silver medals in the Individual Championships Gav gave it a real tilt at defending his Vets title whilst Maddie made club history with a first ever Women's major final medal for a Saints rider... Leon missed out on the 2nd/3rd place run-off in the Junior Final by 1 pt where George also rode strongly, Sonny & Joe made it through pre-qualifying to the Semi's...similarly Joe in the Under 16's made the Semi's from pre-qualifying but missed the Final by 1pt....In the Open event George made the Quarter finals, Sonny just missed out whilst Tom Colling & Leon made the final 32 but went out in the Semi-Finals... they 'certainly left it all out on the track' ..all 7 Saints did themselves & the club super proud....doing it the Southampton way

With the World Championships kicking off this week, a quick look back at our Saints British Champs two weeks ago....a great success for the club I believe in presentation & sport terms, whilst our riders 'certainly left it all on the track' perhaps didn't always enjoy the luck or catch a break, or it wasn't meant to be this time...All 11 Saints did themselves and the club proud... One 3rd place for Gav, run-offs for 3rd for young Tom & Leon, Senior Final places for Gav & Tom Colling.....upwards & onwards to the worlds for seven of them....doing it the Southampton way
