I often meet people who want to BE SEEN doing handstands ๐คธ
They don't want to practice it, spend time learning it, play with it, explore what their bodies are capable of, and just practice for the sake of practicing it, having fun and learning a new skill.
They just want to be able to do it so they can show off to their friends and family or post a cool pic/video on their IG.
And you know what? That's okay. Why someone wants to do something is honestly - none of my f**king business.
It's just that you can't really expect to get the results you want if your main reason is to be seen as someone who can do the stuff.
For most people that motivation is just not going to work. You have other things in your life that are actually important. Family, relationships, health, your career or whatever your priorities are. Maybe handstands are not simply for you at this moment? Maybe they will be later once you have more time and you adjusted other things in your life.
If you don't want to put in enough time, consistently over a year or two, you're not likely to get anywhere with balancing your handstand away from the wall. If that's the case, do yourself a favor - quit now and come back to it once you've got time, your motivation changed or something. Just saying, do whatever you want with it.
Not the best pep talk ever from someone who teaches handstands, but I am not really in a motivation business.
I am in the business of doing whatever the f**k you want and enjoying it. And that's where the motivation comes from.
Thanks for coming to my meme post.
Jeez, that was way longer than I wanted to make it. I appreciate you if you read it all though

Most of the clients I work with, have been working with me for a year, two or even four.
It's never a great time when we have to part our ways coaching wise as I absolutely love working with all of my clients โค๏ธ
So, if you're interested to work on your strength, mobility and learn some skills - DM me :) I got one more space open.
Want to get back to your sport but you're still injured? Let's have a chat and we'll see if I can help ๐๐ป

Hey you, I see you ๐ Take some time off, you're about to crash pal ๐ฅด
Sometimes rest day/holiday/time off that you're planning for next week/month/year has to happen now. Even if you don't want to admit that. Even if you think that you can't.
Yes, you f**king can. Your health and wellbeing can't wait much longer. Get some rest so you can be of more use to those who matter to you.
So take a day off, cancel all the meetings, set your house on fire and go live in the forest. Yes, you f**king can, you legend.
You do you โ๐ป

Felt quite compelled to share this.
There are all sorts of marketing tricks and other f**kery used by some personal growth bullsh*t gurus and coaches as well as huge corporations that are trying to get us into the scarcity mindset and make us feel that we're never good enough.
That's how they make money and gain power over us. By telling you that you're never good enough and gatekeeping the solutions to fix that problem.
They'll tell you:
You're not fit enough
You're not thin enough
You're not smart enough
And so on
To sell you their products and services using their pain point marketing.
F**k them. F**k the never good enough culture. We can do better than that.
It all starts with radical acceptance of yourself and your situation, otherwise no matter how much better you'll get - it will be never enough for you. This sh*t isn't easy, but what's the alternative?
Apart from teaching all the funky movements I am also a qualified soft tissue therapist and corrective exercise specialist.
The thing I enjoy the most about my work is getting people back to the activities they love doing.
I've been there myself before, I know how much things suck when you lost something that you loved doing.
This doesn't need to end. Sometimes you just have to refocus and extend the timeframe of your recovery. Having a program helps. Having someone who can take the guesswork out of the equation helps massively.
Injured and itching to get back to your sport? My DMs are open, let's have a chat and make a plan โค๏ธ
Front cartwheel was on of my favourite soft acrobatics tricks when I first started getting into it.
Basically, you can think about it as a combination of cartwheel, bridge and a sissy squat. Getting more comfortable in each of these will make the front cartwheel easier to learn.
This is just a simplified breakdown of the front cartwheel, but it might be a nice reference on how to progress this funky move โ๐ป
A couple of other things that might be worth considering when working on it:
๐Place your hands on the floor wider than shoulder-width apart (the more shoulder/thoracic mobility you have, the easier it is to get it with your hands closer together)
๐Bend your elbows slightly as you start the front cartwheel and then push back up as you're about to land (it's kind of like a mini press up motion)
๐Aim to travel far with your cartwheels (stretch it out!), but keep your hips open and arch through your lower back
๐Start slowly and build up, make sure you're comfortable with a regular cartwheel.
๐You're more likely to get it if you have some front split and bridge mobility (you don't have to be gymnast-like flexible though!). Sissy squat is also a good thing to have here - these might take some more time to develop and they are often ths limiting factor when you're learning the front cartwheel, so make sure to add them into your training routine if front cartwheel is on your radar.
Let me know in the comments if you found this simplified breakdown helpful.
Feel free to reach out to me if you need more guidance. I do teach soft acrobatics as a part of my remote and in-person coaching ๐ฉ

Train hard, but recover harder ๐ช๐ป
You know, there are legitimate reasons why people can't recover enough, have trouble sleeping or eating nutritious foods, but sometimes it's leveraging the small things, making small changes and...
PRIORITISING YOURSELF.
Prioritising your physical and mental health so you can be there for others and do the things you love.
You've got only one body, one vehicle that you can use to help yourself and others. Take care of it. Especially when you're active and care about staying active.

Are you your worst enemy too? โ๏ธ Swipe left for a short read ๐
I've got another book recommendation for you if that's the case.
I've been working through my inner critic self with this book lately. Reading, observing myself and others around me and trying to settle down my critic by giving him voice, observing him, but also trying not to let him sabotage me.
It's a tough work and still rarely works out, but if it's 10% better, then I am winning already.
Who's your inner critic? Is it a critical parent, teacher, collection of friends, family members and 'social rules/norms' ?
Who's that voice in your head that pushed you to grow but also keeps on sabotaging you in the most important ventures of your life?
It's not really you and your voice, isn't it?

Adapted from Joe Rogan's joke about vegans in one of his Netflix specials:
'There's vegans who are really only vegans cause Scientology didn't find them first' ๐
Btw just to to let you know - I am vegan myself, just saying before someone gets really butthurt about it ๐ I found his joke freaking hilarious lol
Hey passt, it's just a joke, much love to my fellow movers ๐
