The Most Underrated Fitness Tool on the Planet: NEAT đŸš¶â€â™‚ïž

Everyone talks about workouts, calories and protein, but hardly anyone talks about NEAT (Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis), the calories you burn through everyday movement outside of formal exercise.

Walking to the shops, taking the stairs, carrying groceries, gardening, cleaning the house, standing instead of sitting, even pacing during a phone call all count.

And here’s the amazing part:

Research shows NEAT can account for 15–30% of your daily calorie burn, making it one of the biggest contributors to energy expenditure outside of structured exercise.

Too many people smash a one-hour workout, then spend the rest of the day sitting down. Meanwhile, someone who moves regularly throughout the day is constantly burning energy, improving circulation, supporting recovery and maintaining mobility.

The body doesn’t care whether movement comes from a treadmill or a walk around the block. It simply responds to movement.

I see people go to the gym on a glorious day to walk for an hour! Their choice but a walk is a walk
..

That’s why I’m such a huge fan of NEAT. It’s free. It’s accessible. It’s sustainable. And it adds up far more than most people realise.

A few simple habits can make a massive difference:

✅ Walk more

✅ Take the stairs

✅ Stand up regularly

✅ Walk after meals

✅ Do household jobs with purpose

✅ Stay active between workouts

Fitness isn’t built solely in the gym. It’s built through the choices you make throughout the day.

The workout matters.

But so does every step before it, and every step after it.

Move more, sit less, and let the small things add up. They often make the biggest difference. đŸ’ȘđŸ”„

NOT MAKING PROGRESS?

Good.

That doesn’t mean it’s time to quit.
It means you’re exactly where you need to be.

When most people start training, the results come quickly:

✅ Strength shoots up
✅ Clothes fit better
✅ Energy improves
✅ Motivation is through the roof

Then something happens

The weights stop moving.
The scale refuses to budge.
Your muscles don’t feel as full.
Progress suddenly feels invisible.

And that’s usually when people give up.

But here’s what most people don’t realise:

A plateau is not proof that you’re failing.
A plateau is proof that your body has adapted.

WIN!

Your body is incredibly smart.

In the beginning, it responds rapidly because everything is new. But once it learns the demands you’re placing on it, it slows down, stabilises, and strengthens those adaptations.

It isn’t stopping.

It’s rebuilding.
It’s consolidating.
It’s preparing for the next level.

The people who achieve extraordinary results aren’t the people who never hit plateaus.

They’re the people who keep showing up when progress becomes hard to see.

Remember:

đŸŒ± Growth is often happening beneath the surface before it becomes visible.
đŸ‹ïž Strength is built during the boring weeks.
đŸ”„ Consistency beats motivation every single time.

So if you’re feeling stuck right now, don’t quit.
DONT resort to quick fixes, pills, diets s**t that long term doesn’t work

Keep training.
Keep turning up.
Keep trusting the process.

Because the plateau you’re standing on today might be the foundation for your next breakthrough tomorrow.

Training with my homie Nik today. Woop woop! đŸ’Ș

Leg day was on the menu, and let’s just say the legs knew all about it. I also need to give a shout-out to Charlie because the leg session a couple of days ago definitely played a part in how much today’s workout hurt!

Big respect to Nik though. The amount of work she’s putting in is incredible, and I’m massively proud of how far she’s come. Mate, you’ve earned every bit of that progress.

It got me thinking. There are people out there right now complaining about their weight, their fitness, their physique, and where they are in life. Yet they’re doing absolutely nothing about it.

We live in an Amazon world. Everyone wants next-day results. Everyone wants the transformation, but not everyone wants the early mornings, the sweat, the consistency, the setbacks, and the grind.

Here’s the truth: there is no quick fix.

Everything worth having takes work. Strength takes work. Fitness takes work. Confidence takes work. Success takes work.

The people getting results aren’t lucky. They’re showing up when they don’t feel like it. They’re doing the boring stuff over and over again. They’re earning it.

So if you’re waiting for the magic solution, F- you.

Get up. Get moving. Put the work in.

Because results don’t come to those who want them. They come to those who work for them.

So for all those wanting that quick fix, again, in capital letters, F you. Do the work, Have a great day.

While most people were still hitting snooze, my client was putting in the work and absolutely smashing it out of the park.

Today’s session was a strong upper-body workout packed with effort, determination, and plenty of hard-earned reps. No shortcuts, no excuses—just consistent work being done when nobody’s watching.

Progress isn’t built by the odd great session. It’s built by showing up time and time again, especially at 6am.

Well done, client. Keep stacking those wins. đŸ‘ŠđŸ”„ 6AMClub

The Gym Isn’t Magic
 It’s Maintenance.

People ask me how I stay consistent with training.

The answer is simple: I’m not chasing a transformation anymore. I’m maintaining one.

I’ve spent years building my strength, fitness and health. Years of early mornings, hard sessions, setbacks, injuries, learning, adapting and showing up when I couldn’t be bothered.

Yet every day people are sold the dream:

“Get the body you want in 6 weeks!”
“Transform your life in 30 days!”
“One weird trick
”

Mate, if getting in shape was that easy, we’d all look like superheroes.

Can you make progress in 7 weeks? Absolutely.

Can you build a strong, healthy, resilient body in 7 weeks?

Not a chance.

We live in an Amazon Prime world. Click today, delivered tomorrow. Unfortunately, your body didn’t get the memo.

Strength takes time.
Fitness takes time.
Muscle takes time.
Health takes time.

The uncomfortable truth is that many people will happily spend years neglecting their body, then expect six weeks to undo the damage.

And here’s the bit nobody likes hearing:

The work you avoid today is often the work you’ll be desperate to do later.

Train because future you is watching.

And trust me, future you either says:

“Thank you.”

Or

“I wish we’d started sooner.”
