Global running day 🏃🏼
Here are 3 things you shouldn’t do at the burpee broad jumps 👇
1️⃣ Don’t rush your first few reps, find your rhythm early.
You’ve just come off a run, your heart rate’s already high, and your instinct is to attack the first few jumps hard.
❌ What happens? You spike your heart rate, build unnecessary fatigue, and your jumps get shorter and slower halfway through.
✅ Instead: take 3–5 seconds before your first rep to find a rhythm. Think of it as burpee pacing, not burpee racing.
Your goal here isn’t to go faster, it’s to stay consistent across the full 80m.
2️⃣ Don’t stand up tall between jumps, stay low, stay efficient, and keep your transitions tight.
Every time you fully extend your hips and stand upright, you waste energy and time.
❌ It breaks your rhythm, and the constant up down up down motion wrecks your breathing pattern.
✅ Instead: stay in a low, athletic position as you transition from jump to burpee.
Keep your chest slightly forward, land soft, and use that momentum straight into your next burpee.
Think “flow”, not “stop start”.
3️⃣ Don’t forget to breathe (sounds silly right) Controlled exhale every jump keeps your rhythm and heart rate under control.
This is where most people blow up.
When fatigue sets in, breathing becomes shallow and panicked, which only makes your heart rate worse.
✅ Practice active exhalation: breathe out during the jump or the push phase of your burpee.
A controlled exhale helps you manage your effort, stay relaxed, and keep moving when others are gassing out.
Move smooth, and you’ll save more time than you think.
