⛳️ CECC ANNUAL GOLF DAY 2026 🏏🍻

What a cracking day! ☀️⛳️

A huge thank you to Aqualate Golf Club in Newport for hosting our annual Church Eaton Cricket Club Golf Day. The course was in fantastic condition, the weather couldn’t have been better, and there was plenty of questionable golf on display! 😂

🏆 Congratulations to our winning team — Dan, Rob, Jay & Matty! 🏆

Bragging rights secured for the next 12 months… and, more importantly, the £100 bar voucher! 🍻😂

Most importantly, it was a brilliant day spent with a great group of players, raising money and supporting the club. 🏏💙

A massive thanks to everyone who played, supported the day and helped make it such a success.

Same again next year? ⛳️🏏🍻

The Church Eaton Chase 10K returns on Sunday 11 April 2027, and we’re getting ready to order our event hoodies!

We have space for a few more local businesses to sponsor the event and have their logo printed on the hoodies. Your support helps us cover the costs of putting on the race, meaning more money can go to our chosen charities and local causes.

🏏 CECC SENIOR AWARDS and CELEBRATION EVENING 2026 🏆🍺🎸

We’re rounding off another brilliant season at Church Eaton Cricket Club with our Senior Awards Evening on Saturday 3rd October at Church Eaton Village Hall.

We’ve got:

* 🏆 Senior awards & presentations
* 🐟 Fish & chips
* 🍺 Beers at the bar
* 🎸 Live band playing on the night
* 👏 Players, supporters, families & friends all welcome

Doors open: 6:30pm
Awards evening starts: 7:00pm

It’s a chance to celebrate the performances, people and moments that have made the season what it was — and more importantly, get everyone together for a proper CECC night.

🏏 **CHURCH EATON CC – LOOKING AHEAD TO 2027** 🏏

Following a challenging season in Division 3, our 1st XI will return to NSSCCL Division 4 for 2027.

It wasn't the outcome we wanted, but there's plenty to be proud of. After unexpectedly earning promotion, the step up was always going to be a challenge — made tougher by several established players becoming unavailable through work commitments, moving away, going abroad or moving clubs.

That meant players throughout the club had to step up, and they did exactly that. 👏

One of the biggest positives has been our youngsters. We've had 11-year-olds taking wickets in the 2nd XI, while players aged just 13, 14 and 15 have regularly contributed to the 1st XI. The experience they've gained will hopefully be invaluable for the future. 💙

A huge thank you to everyone who represented Church Eaton this season. It's been tough at times, but you can all hold your heads high.

💪 NOW WE BUILD FOR 2027

There's plenty happening behind the scenes this winter and we're welcoming expressions of interest from players, coaches, captains and volunteers.

Our ambitions:

🏏 **1st XI** – rebuild and challenge for promotion back to Division 3.

🏏 **2nd XI** – increase squad depth and build a side capable of challenging for promotion.

🌱 **Young players** – continue providing opportunities to develop and progress in senior cricket.

We're also looking for people who want to help off the field. Cricket clubs rely on volunteers and we'd love some new faces and ideas behind the scenes.

We're particularly interested in hearing from anyone interested in:

🏏 **Senior Team Coach**
©️ **Team Captains**
🙌 **Other volunteer/committee roles**

We've already had players from the 2025 squad commit to returning for 2027, giving us a great foundation to build from — now we want to add to it!

Whether you're an existing member, looking for a new club, haven't played for a while, or simply want to get involved behind the scenes, **we'd love to hear from you.**

The season may be drawing to a close but there’s still plenty of things happening at the club!

This Friday 18th is the Junior presentation evening in the pavilion. Fresh cooked Pizza available on the night. Everyone welcome!

Sunday 20th is our final match of the season. Come down and support the team! Bar open from 13pm

Saturday 3rd October is our social golf day at Aqualate. Spaces available so please get your names down! This is very much as social tournament!

Then Finally… Back by popular demand is our Elvis night at the institute on Saturday 21st Novembe. Tickets available in the clubhouse, the Oak or contact Vicky. Early bird discount available but act fast!!
