Stamford Unity had World Cup fever Sunday night with their own World Cup tournament.
Battled out by England Germany, Spain and Netherlands.

After some brilliant end to end games, the Netherlands came out on top winning the Stamford Unity World Cup, a sign of what’s to come perhaps?

The session ended with a group penalty shoot out in homage to the inevitable penalty shoot out for England in the coming weeks!!

We also welcomed new recruit Sean to Stamford Unity and he brought his shooting boots scoring on his debut and winning player of the week, well done Sean !!

Part 2 of our Bumper Weekend

On the Sunday, it was The Young Daniels presentation day, spanning over the whole day celebrating our amazing club.

Before our presentation slot, we played a friendly kickabout with our friends Netherton United FC

This game was attended by all our Unity gang. There were goals galore and a guest appearance from our new signing Danny The Lion, who scored on his debut.

Thanks to Netherton for coming over and sharing our fun inclusive game.

We then had a quick break, the lads all got changed into their smart gear and we held our presentation.

It started with the presentation of the Stamford Unity Flag. We ran a competition in the group to design a flag which signifies what it is to be part of Stamford Unity.

Joe was voted unanimously as our Flag winner and what a flag it is too, well done Joe.

We then presented all of our players with individual medals and certificates, with Louis (who celebrated by performing a dance) Sam O and Hugo winning individual accolades.

Finally, we were lucky to hear a couple of speeches from Joe and Luke to talk about how much they love playing for Stamford Unity, a really emotional moment for everyone. Well done chaps.

Stamford Unity is more than just football, it is about building an inclusive community, something which is at the heart of everything we do.

End of season presentations may now be done, but we keep going and are ready for more

Part 1 of a Bumper Weekend

On Saturday, we attended the Lazy Crow Festival in Stamford to celebrate local original artists.

This year, we were mega excited to be selected as the community group that the Lazy Crow wanted to support via the raffle.

Therefore, channeling our inner Rodney & Derek Trotter, our team of salespeople spent the afternoon spreading the word of Stamford Unity, talking about the amazing things we are currently doing, and what the proceeds of the raffle would give to the club.

Everyone was so friendly and generous with purchasing tickets. Little shout out to the Stamford College massive who also bought a bucket load of tickets.

After a quick count up, we are delighted to say we have raised over £1,000 which will be invested straight back into Stamford Unity through getting all of the squad their first personal kits!!

Another brilliant Sunday night training session!

After some of the lads spent all day playing in the Lincoln Invictus Tournament, they still brought great energy to training.

Man of the Match was shared by Luke and Andrew. Luke scored an incredible penalty to seal the award, while Andrew impressed with his powerful bullet shots on goal. Well done to both of you!

Louis kept everyone entertained by showing off his dance moves, bringing plenty of smiles to the session.

We also celebrated team birthdays for Sam and Matthew. Happy Birthday to you both - we hope you had a fantastic day!

Yesterday our Unity Tournament Squad attended the Stuart Waters-Manning Memorial Tournament with Lincoln Invictus Inclusive Football Club

A tournament played in memory Stuart Waters-Manning, one of their players who sadly passed away.

The day kicked off with some great words about Stuart and how he would have loved the tournament. This followed by a minutes applause to remember Stuart.

The games then came thick and fast against some big, well established teams from Bradford City DFC Derby County Community Trust Club Doncaster Titans

The games were played in a competitive but friendly manner.

After 8 games, we won 3, drew 2, lost 3 and narrowly missed out on the runners up spot.

We played some really smart football and scored some amazing goals, but the most important thing for us was to play with smiles on our faces.

Well done to all the other teams and we are looking forwards to next years tournament already.

Highlight of the day was when we lent our player Josh to Derby County, to even up the numbers, for him to only go and score a volley against us!!!!
