Cambusbarron Rovers 2017s

Cambu 2017s kicked off their pre‑season with a strong showing at the Billy Gilmour Festival, taking on high‑quality opposition and reaching the semi‑finals. A brilliant effort from the boys, with plenty of valuable learnings for players and coaches as preparations continue for the league restart in August. Well done to everyone involved. 🔴⚪️⚽️

ROVERS PARK TO BE RE-NAMED

Cambusbarron Rovers are delighted to announce that our home ground known as Mill Road Park is to be re-named ‘FLETCHER PARK’ in recognition of the incredible contribution Duncan and Hunter Fletcher have made over many years to the Rovers but also to the local community and around the Stirling area through the family run business FES Ltd

The Rovers committee with the backing of Cambusbarron Community Council bestowed this honour formally at a naming ceremony on Thursday 9th July at the park.

Fittingly a new sign has been erected at the ground entrance which will be a new focal point on match days and rightly ensure that the Fletcher family legacy will remain forever woven into the fabric of this football club and the village of Cambusbarron.

Chairman, Iain Campbell said.
“The unique relationship that FES has with the Rovers, we felt had to be marked in some way. This season will incredibly be the 49th year of continuous sponsorship, easily making it the longest running sponsorship arrangement in Scottish football. We could never thank Duncan and Hunter enough for what they have done for this club but this is a fitting and permanent reminder of that relationship.”

Rovers long time Secretary Gary Grahamslaw said “The FES support of the kids teams as well as the senior amateur side has been and will continue to be of immense help in the running of the club. Next Thursday is an opportunity for Cambusbarron residents as well as the Rovers supporters to say thanks to Duncan and Hunter with this permanent marking of an incredible legacy.”

A very busy weekend for Cambusbarron 2017s, rounding things off with our final league game of this block. A big well done — and thank you — to all the teams we’ve faced over the past few months. Best of luck to everyone heading into the next block.

We also took on another Pre‑Academy side, with the boys pushing themselves, showing their qualities, whilst working hard to improve their own game against a quality side. They continue to prove that we’re a strong, competitive group who love a challenge and never shy away from testing ourselves.

Finally, we played at the Pitreavie Festival today. Plenty of talent on show across all the pitches, with every team capable of taking goals off each other. Exactly the kind of competitive environment the boys need to develop and push themselves.

A big thank you to Pitreavie for organising and hosting such a well‑run event. The boys loved it and came away buzzing from the experience.

Brilliant again from Cambusbarron 2017s!

Up against another sharp Pre‑Academy side, the boys showed exactly why their reputation keeps growing. They played
a strong, talented Motherwell 2018s group and delivered a display full of intensity, quality, and confidence.

Lots of talent on show from both teams. Great experience for the boys. 🔴⚪️⚽️

Cambu 2017s playing against some of the top academies and showing they can compete with the best. The boys did themselves proud tonight against superb St Mirren. It was a brilliant test, and they took it all in their stride. I couldn’t be prouder of every single one of them.

Keep pushing yourselves, keep learning, and grab every opportunity that comes your way. 🔴⚪️⚽️💪🏻

So impressed with the players tonight for both Cambusbarron Rovers 2017 and an excellent Dundee team mixed 2018s and 2017s. Another brilliant test for the boys who continue to push to improve and take everything head on! Back to league business tomorrow. Some team!! 🔴⚪️⚽️💪🏻
