Happy Easter 🐣
Chocolate for breakfast & now off to explore & then garden jobs await (already had to race out this morning to rescue the cabbages & cauliflowers from last nights v v blustery weather).
Wishing you a lovely (chocolate filled) day whatever you’re up to!

Spring Equinox is here & thank goodness 🌸
It’s felt like an especially long, dark & dreary Winter hasn’t it?
I think like most of us, I couldn’t be happier for the return of Spring & of all the little things that mean the most; the longer days, lighter evenings, balmy nights sat outside, morning bird song to wake up to, evening walks as the sun sets, hearing the lapwings & Curlews overhead, the garden blooming & British flowers returning in abundance 🌸
To celebrate, I’ll be sowing some seeds and getting stuck into the garden 🤍

Happy Mothers Day to everyone celebrating & lots of love to those who aren’t ❤️
Very lucky to have the best Mum & a lovely Mum-in-law too. Always willing & on hand to help - even when it involves requests as incredibly niche as donning a swimsuit in the middle of an RHS show for press day (sorry!).
Thank you for always being the best ❤️

A pick & mix of Spring favourites 🤍
Now the Sun is back out shining again, after a brief intermission of biblical rains & dark, dreary skies yesterday, it feels back to regular Spring programming 🌱

A heads up that we’re sitting Mothers Day out this year 🌸
I’ve been really re-evaluating things since deciding to close our retail shop & how I work within this industry and quite honestly - controversial option time - I dread Mothers Day each year. Like anxiety inducing, stomach lurching dread. To be honest, for most of the ‘big’ holidays I feel this way.
Crucially, from a business standpoint, flower prices become WILD (even more so than usual) & especially when we use premium blooms it is felt even more sharply. Flower quality is just never quite as good - it can be hit & miss which leads to incredible pressure for us to produce a gorgeous bouquet with smaller-than-usual blooms that cost three times as much. It’s a headache each time.
Also, we really love to use seasonal, English grown blooms and at this time of year we are just not there yet.
And my creative little heart really hates feeling like a factory line; churning out bouquet after bouquet… it goes against the style of floristry that I want to create. Little, individual pieces of art.
So, we’ll be happily sitting this year out!
From the end of the month we’ll be back doing our monthly deliveries when flower demand is less & prices are less eye-boggling.
We can organise a gift voucher for these monthly deliveries too - just pop an email over! & we can get one delivered to you in time for this weekend 🫶

1A Longhurst Lane ❤️
The end of a very special chapter 📚
Closing it with a very grateful heart 🫶
Having a shop has been a beautifully wild ride - i’ve met so many incredible people, heard so many amazing tales, created endless arrangements & I’ve grown in ways I didn’t even realise & have been challenged in ways I never even knew possible.
I mean, if these walls could talk I’m sure Netflix would be commissioning a new drama!
I have loved being a small part of Town Street’s story.
But now, to start a new, chapter down a road-less-travelled…. Call it the year of the horse or my floaty, Aquarian tendencies but I’m very much looking forward to being less tied down in 2026 ✨

A little post to say hello!
I’m still here… just a little slower - busy hunkering down, getting sh*t done (my motto for 2026), planting the seeds for the year ahead & enjoying a little bit of rest in between ✨
The newsletter will be (finally) sent & in your inboxes by this weekend…. Full of life updates, seasonal musings & Valentines flower order info too ✨
We hope you’re all gently emerging from January too 🌱

The day of the Winter Solstice has arrived; the longest night & shortest day of the year ✨
A gentle reminder that the although the light will soon be slowly returning; it calls on us to trust nature & lean into the magic of the seasons. To accept the darkness of Winter & soften to the stillness of the energy.
As the trees, flowers and animals pull inwards & hibernate; we also need to retreat too. We often forget to honour this slowness in the peak of Christmas fever - when we go against everything the season is trying to teach us.
Fully embrace the magic of slower days✨
Light a candle, make a fire & lean into the cosier season ❤️

Today marks our first wreath workshop of the season!
Our official start to Christmas & the first wreath post to celebrate 🎄
Christmas is looking a little calmer this year (with the shop closed), still slightly hectic, but in an actually enjoyable way!
The workshops are mostly either sold out or have 1-2 spaces left… there are still a few spaces for tonight’s & next Wednesdays…. They can either be booked via our website or send over an email & we’ll get back to you 🎄
Wreaths can absolutely still be ordered for delivery/collection…. It should have been up & running on the website, but I’m a little behind. They will be able to order via our website later this afternoon or again, pop over an email & we’ll get you booked in!

What a day…. Quite possibly, I may be the happiest & luckiest little florist ❤️
Yesterday I closed the shop for its last official last day as a ‘shop’. I was quietly terrified that yesterday would be sad & I didn’t want that (as I truly am so excited for the next chapter).
Instead, it was such a gorgeous celebration of the last four years. I felt held with so much love from you all & I cannot put into words how overwhelmingly grateful I am for the completely incredible community that my little shop has somehow built (I’m just sorry to everyone that I’ve made sad by closing!).
I think it’s when something comes to an end that you realise how special the journey has all been ❤️
The unexpected cards with the kindest words, the gorgeous conversations, the hugs, the special visits just to say hello, the kind gifts, the special home baked & homemade presents really did leave me speechless - almost sent me into tears!
So thank you. Truly.
The shop is still very much mine until Jan/Feb - we’ll have a pop up opening for Marple Bridge Winter Wonderland, we’re still here for all of your wreath orders, foliage & of course workshops (we’ll send a newsletter with all the info out this coming week!). After that we’ll have a new home & a new way of working - one that brings a little more balance & creativity.
Love, a forever grateful florist ❤️
