π
W/C 20/07 to W/C 24/08 (6 weeks total)
β° Mondays*, Wednesdays & Fridays at 9-10am
(*excluding Monday 20/07)
Who are they for and what do they involve?
They are for any young athlete who wants to improve running speed and change of direction speed to maximise performance in their sport and reduce injury risk through improved movement technique.
Sessions will be packed full of technical drills to improve:
πΉοΈ Power
πΉοΈ Acceleration technique
πΉοΈ Technique at maximum running speed
πΉοΈ Technique when changing direction
While also improving speed itself and enjoying the process through:
πΈοΈ Max effort straight line sprinting and racing
πΈοΈ High speed change of direction work
πΈοΈ Reactive agility competitive drills
Sessions are offered as either 1 session per week or 2 sessions per week, depending on what athletes need.
Full course including 1 session per week Β£90
Full course including 2 sessions per week Β£160
Sessions are already filling up through our current members and numbers will be capped at 12 per session, so if this is something that would be of interest - book via the link in our bio or DM the word SPEED π©

Congratulations to Oliver for joining the PPA 50 club! π₯
Oliver joined PPA in November 2024 with a focus on improving the physical side of football (movement speed, strength and power) β½οΈ
In that time, we've seen big phases of growth (10cm so far) and huge physical improvements in his strength and performance testing:
Countermovement jump (general lower body power): from 21cm to 31.3cm = 49% improvement!
Broad jump (horizontal power): from 181cm to 216cm = 19.3% improvement!
RSI (reactive strength): from 1.57 - 2.25 = 43.3% improvement!
This data gives us a high level of evidence that these physical qualities will transfer to movements in the game - he's felt more confident in possession of the ball and his acceleration & deceleration has improved
Great work Oliver - keep it up!

Our youth athletes are working hard and seeing LOTS of progress β
οΈ
From athletes who have been with us for months progressing on to work with barbells and heavier loads (still with excellent technique!), to young athletes who are brand new to our programme learning the fundamental movement patterns
Long-term, individualised, structured training for motivated young athletes aged 10-18 πͺ
Each young athlete is working on what they need, mainly looking to improve:
πΉοΈ Strength
πΉοΈ Power
πΉοΈ Speed
That improves:
πΈοΈ Performance in sport
πΈοΈ Risk of injury
πΈοΈ Confidence
πΈοΈ Training skills and knowledge

Welcome to the 50 club, Elliot!
Elliot has been a member of PPA since Feb 2025, joining his brother Jensen (also a 50 club member!)
Elliot initially joined us with the goal of improving physical attributes to improve performance and long term development for Football
We started working through our foundation phase movement and strength development curriculum, which guides young new athletes through the fundamentals and helps them gain confidence in training (we do this with both athletes in person and those who train with us remotely)
He's developed a huge amount of strength while pushing his key physical performance tests massively. Here are his stats:
Broad jump: from 156cm to 173cm (10.9%)
Counter movement jump: 25cm to 29.6cm (18.4%)
Reactive strength: from 1.12 to 1.42 (26.8%)
All while dealing with high growth in that time - growing over 5cm!
These improvements transfer massively to movement speed in football (linear and change of direction speed, jump height AND the ability to maintain high intensity movements)
Let's go Elliot!

TRAINING MOVEMENT + PHYSICAL QUALITIES ALONGSIDE SPORT
Playing more games only goes so far when we're looking at athletic development. If youth athletes are going to achieve their potential, they need more focused work:
βοΈ Strength
βοΈ Mobility
βοΈ Balance
βοΈ Speed mechanics
βοΈ Injury prevention work
Focusing on building them as an athlete will help them develop in their sport
SLEEPING ENOUGH
Most young athletes are under-recovered, not under-trained - sleep has the biggest impact on recovery
π Better performance
π§ Faster reaction time
πͺ More muscle recovery
π Better mood & focus
Goal: 8β10 hours nightly
EATING AFTER TRAINING
Many athletes train hard⦠then skip recovery nutrition.
Within 30β60 minutes after training:
β
Protein
β
Carbs
β
Fluids
Protein helps with repair, carbohydrate helps to re-fuel and fluids re-hydrate, 3 essential factors - especially when training the next / same day
If you need help training and recovering the right way, DM us the word 'performance' and we'll show you how we can help
Let's go π
Fantastic work from PPA athletes at our in-person sessions last week!
Everyone is on their own sporting journey, and we're here to support their development.
Individualised programmes mean there is some cross-over between exercises/drills, but all for different reasons for each athlete.
All with one key focus:
HIGH QUALITY MOVEMENT
This increases the chance that training will carry over to the sport, improves strength/power/speed to a greater extent, and means less chance of injury. Keep smashing it!
π In-person sessions every weekday

5:30-6:30pm
