Congratulations to Oliver for joining the PPA 50 club! π₯
Oliver joined PPA in November 2024 with a focus on improving the physical side of football (movement speed, strength and power) β½οΈ
In that time, we've seen big phases of growth (10cm so far) and huge physical improvements in his strength and performance testing:
Countermovement jump (general lower body power): from 21cm to 31.3cm = 49% improvement!
Broad jump (horizontal power): from 181cm to 216cm = 19.3% improvement!
RSI (reactive strength): from 1.57 - 2.25 = 43.3% improvement!
This data gives us a high level of evidence that these physical qualities will transfer to movements in the game - he's felt more confident in possession of the ball and his acceleration & deceleration has improved
Great work Oliver - keep it up!

Welcome to the 50 club, Elliot!
Elliot has been a member of PPA since Feb 2025, joining his brother Jensen (also a 50 club member!)
Elliot initially joined us with the goal of improving physical attributes to improve performance and long term development for Football
We started working through our foundation phase movement and strength development curriculum, which guides young new athletes through the fundamentals and helps them gain confidence in training (we do this with both athletes in person and those who train with us remotely)
He's developed a huge amount of strength while pushing his key physical performance tests massively. Here are his stats:
Broad jump: from 156cm to 173cm (10.9%)
Counter movement jump: 25cm to 29.6cm (18.4%)
Reactive strength: from 1.12 to 1.42 (26.8%)
All while dealing with high growth in that time - growing over 5cm!
These improvements transfer massively to movement speed in football (linear and change of direction speed, jump height AND the ability to maintain high intensity movements)
Let's go Elliot!

TRAINING MOVEMENT + PHYSICAL QUALITIES ALONGSIDE SPORT
Playing more games only goes so far when we're looking at athletic development. If youth athletes are going to achieve their potential, they need more focused work:
βοΈ Strength
βοΈ Mobility
βοΈ Balance
βοΈ Speed mechanics
βοΈ Injury prevention work
Focusing on building them as an athlete will help them develop in their sport
SLEEPING ENOUGH
Most young athletes are under-recovered, not under-trained - sleep has the biggest impact on recovery
π Better performance
π§ Faster reaction time
πͺ More muscle recovery
π Better mood & focus
Goal: 8β10 hours nightly
EATING AFTER TRAINING
Many athletes train hard⦠then skip recovery nutrition.
Within 30β60 minutes after training:
β
Protein
β
Carbs
β
Fluids
Protein helps with repair, carbohydrate helps to re-fuel and fluids re-hydrate, 3 essential factors - especially when training the next / same day
If you need help training and recovering the right way, DM us the word 'performance' and we'll show you how we can help

Congratulations to Elise for joining the 50 Club! π
Elise initially joined back in Jan 2025 with a focus on getting faster, stronger and more powerful for football β½οΈ
We started Elise on our movement development curriculum with a focus on long term physical development - covering all key fundamental movements that improve strength, power and movement quality.
Since joining, Elise has seen HUGE improvements in physical performance while growing a massive 10cm!
Performance stats:
Countermovement jump (general lower body power): from 14.8cm to 23.2cm = 56.7% improvement!
Broad jump (horizontal power): from 127cm to 168cm = 32.3% improvement!
RSI (reactive strength): from 0.97 - 1.17 = 20.6% improvement!
These improvements are massive - and have a huge transfer to all explosive movements on the pitch.
Keep smashing it Elise!

This week we're saying goodbye to coach Dhanyaal!
Dhanyaal has been coaching with us since August 2022 (just after PPA started) πͺ
He's contributed massively to both the development of 100s of athletes we've worked with in that time and to the development of what we do at PPA, all while coaching full time in elite football π
Dhanyaal is moving on and focusing on a career in teaching - which he'll be great at
Thank you for everything Dhanyaal! All the best moving forward π
