NSA Ambers Vs Boro Rangers Bayern

A tough test for The Ambers today as we welcomed a strong Boro Rangers Bayern side, competing two leagues above us.

The Ambers started brightly, showing no signs of the league gap. High pressing and confident play kept Bayern on the back foot early on, and it paid off when Davis fired home a superb left-footed effort to give the home side a deserved 1–0 lead.

We continued to push, but Bayern’s defence held firm before they found an equaliser from a corner, with an unmarked finish levelling the score. The Ambers looked to respond, but just before half-time, Bayern broke forward to grab a second and take the lead into the break.

The second half saw Bayern step up another level. A corner resulted in an unfortunate own goal to make it 1-3 and moments later, a quick fourth put the game further out of reach. Bayern continued to show their quality, adding a fifth goal as the match progressed.

To the lads credit, The Ambers never stopped battling. Late in the game, we were awarded a free kick just outside the box, and Max stepped up to deliver once again—his third free-kick goal in four games—bringing the final score to 2–5.

A strong and spirited performance from the lads against top opposition. We’re incredibly proud of their effort and the progress shown in reaching the latter stages of the League Cup.

With the season now concluded, attention turns to next year, with preparations already underway including preseason friendlies and summer tournaments.

Marton FC Royals Vs NSA Ambers

This game had absolutely everything… goals, late equalisers, and a nerve-racking penalty shootout!

The Ambers started brightly, keeping Marton restricted to no shots on target early on. However, the poor pitch conditions made it difficult to find our usual rhythm, turning the game into a scrappy battle. Against the run of play, Marton took the lead after 10 minutes, converting from a corner to make it 1-0.

We responded well and began to settle. Just before halftime, Jacko produced a moment of quality, nutmegging the keeper to bring us level at 1-1 going into the break.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Marton relying heavily on long balls and set pieces. They regained the lead through an almost identical corner routine. Once again, the Ambers showed great character. A brilliant give-and-go between Davis and Jacko saw Jacko slot home his second to make it 2-2.

Despite limiting Marton to no shots in open play, a handball decision allowed them to score from yet another set piece, taking the lead for the third time. With the game slipping away, Ev stepped up from the back and fired home a superb strike to make it 3-3 and send the tie to penalties.

In the shootout, Charlie was the hero—saving Marton’s final two penalties to secure the win and send the Ambers into the League Cup Quarter-Finals!

A fully deserved result. On a very difficult pitch, the team showed resilience, played some excellent football, and kept Marton from creating anything in open play.

Riverside Jnr Reds Vs NSA Ambers

A wild and windy afternoon set the scene for this League Cup clash, with the conditions playing a huge role throughout as the ball swirled unpredictably in the air.

The home side struck first in unfortunate fashion for The Ambers, as a high effort looped up and over our goalkeeper to give Riverside Jnr Reds the early lead.

But the response from The Ambers was exactly what you’d hope for. Jacko reacted quickest to a forward pass, showing great composure to strike a left-footed finish past the keeper and bring us level.

From there, The Ambers began to take control, keeping possession well and moving the ball with confidence. Their efforts paid off just before half-time with a brilliant team goal — starting from the keeper to Harry, every player got a touch before Harry surged forward from the back and unleashed a fantastic strike to make it 1-2 at the break.

Into the second half, The Ambers continued to dominate possession. A great link-up down the right between Reg and Max saw the ball worked forward to El, who showed excellent strength to hold it up before firing home a superb half-volley to extend the lead to 1-3.

Riverside didn’t give in and applied pressure late on, with their pressing eventually rewarded as they pulled a goal back to make it a tense finish.

Despite the pressure, The Ambers stood strong defensively and created further chances of their own. While a fourth goal never came, the team managed the game well to see out a deserved 2-3 victory.
A great team performance in tough conditions — and most importantly, The Ambers progress into the League Cup 4th Round draw.
