Our U12 Blacks faced Galmpton today.

Coach Gary had this to say; “The game was played in great spirits by both teams.

It was a true team performance with everybody working tirelessly for each other.

The boys controlled the game, attacked at real pace with brilliant passages of play.

It was great to see them all enjoying themselves playing with smiles and they enjoyed swapping positions as the game went on.

Into the next round we go.

It was an all bees affair for the U13s as our sides met in the cup.

Coach Marc for the Blacks; “It was a highly competitive match from the start, with both teams creating good chances and defending strongly. There was very little between the sides for long periods, with both goalkeepers and defences having plenty to do.

In the end, we came away with the positive result and secured our place in the next round. A hard-fought local derby, with both sides showing plenty of effort, quality and determination throughout.”

Coach Adam for the Yellows; “Ultimately, the scoreline went in favour of the stronger side, but the boys showed plenty of grit, determination and fighting spirit throughout. On another day, with a few things going our way, the scoreline could certainly have been much closer.

There were plenty of positives to take from the performance, and the boys never gave up.

Supporters’ Player: Lennie, absolutely on fire again today!

It was a trip to WBB for our U16 Yellows.

Coach Adam reports; “A great cup tie today which saw WBB go through to the next round.

The team battled hard throughout and particularly in the second half after going down to 10 men early on, closely followed by going down to 9 temporarily for just under 10 minutes. The boys managed to stay in the game and compete until the final whistle.

A spectacular debut strike outside the box for Oliver and a smart finish from Charlie, unfortunately wasn’t quite enough.

Player of the match goes to Cal for a great penalty save and keeping us in the game until the final whistle.

Good luck to WBB in the next round.”

Paignton Villa were the visitors for our U16 Reds today.

Coach Adam had this to say; “We progress through to the next round of the cup after a hard fought win against Paignton Villa.

We were slightly depleted today due to injuries and down to the bare 11, which made for a different type of game today where we had to dig deep to protect the lead, with a solid defensive display.

Not quite our day in front of goal, with a lot of tired legs, but very pleased to be creating so many chances with some entertaining football.

Paignton Villa were once again great opponents and were very well organised and coached as always, and pushed us all the way today.

Watcombe Wanderers were the opposition for our U14 Blues today.

Coach Scott reports; “A hard fought battle today. We played some lovely football in spells but certainly were not as clinical as I would have liked us to have been, but well done to the boys for sticking to their task and getting the job done.

Credit to the Watcombe lads who played the entire game with a player less but never stopped battling.

Mom was split between 3 players today;

Oscar - Once again covered every blade of grass, helped move the ball well and came away with a lovely solo goal.

Alfie - Phenomenal work rate with a lovely range of passing, an incredibly intelligent footballer

Sonny - Maintened a positive attitude throughout, worked hard for the team in/out of possession and came away with a couple of goals.

Some really impressive performances throughout though, so it’s always difficult to pick out individuals.

On to the next round!”

It was a visit to Totnes & Dartington for our U14 Blacks today.

Coach Brooke reports; “A 5-0 win for the boys today against a well-organised and determined Totnes & Dartington side who battled hard with just 10 players.

The scoreline was a positive result, but the boys know they can play much better football than they showed today. At times we became frustrated and allowed that to affect our game, rather than sticking to our football and trusting what we know we can do.

Credit to Totnes & Dartington for making it a competitive game and continuing to work hard throughout. For our boys, it’s another cup win and, most importantly, we move on to the next round. Plenty to take away and work on, but we’ll keep pushing forward together.

Our U15 Blacks faced WBB in the 1st round of the league cup this morning.

Coach Tony reports; “We knew before kick-off that we were going to be up against a very strong team.

I told the lads that I wasn't concerned about the scoreline. What mattered to me was that every player gave everything they had, worked hard for each other and never stopped trying.

The first half was difficult, and we went into the break behind. The message at half-time was forget the score and go out there and enjoy the second half.

The lads stepped up in the second half and, for periods, we outplayed WBB. We created chances and showed the football the lads are capable of playing.

Dawid could have had a goal or two, while Ayden also came close, but unfortunately it wasn't to be. Their keeper pulled off some fantastic saves.

At the other end, Oliver was superb and put in another fantastic performance between the sticks. He showed great bravery and commitment throughout.

A special thank you to Chris for running the line today, but even more importantly for the contribution he made to the team. Chris made a slight tactical change at half-time which completely changed the way we defended in the second half.

The performance showed a lot of character. Against a team playing two divisions above us, the lads never gave up, and they showed that when they settled down and played their football, they could compete for periods of the game.

There are plenty of things for us to work on, but there are also plenty of positives to take away. Most importantly, we keep going, we keep learning and we keep improving.

‼️STOLEN MOWER – PLEASE SHARE‼️

The mower pictured below, was stolen from Ilsington Villa Football Club, at approximately 2am on 18th September.

The mower was stolen with attached mower/grass-cutting equipment.

Please check any CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage from around the time of the theft.

If you saw anything suspicious, noticed unusual vehicles or have any information that could help recover the mower, please contact our social pages.
