⚽ BIG TWO WEEKS FOR THE VINE FC! ⚽

This Sunday we face one of our biggest tests yet as we travel to take on AFC Bradwell — currently top of the league. 💪🟢⚫

The lads have been putting in some great performances lately and they’ll need every bit of support they can get for this one. If you’re free on Sunday morning, please come down to Crackley Fields and get behind the team — having a good crowd on the touchline really does make a difference!

📅 Sunday 4th October
⏰ 10:30am Kick Off
📍 Crackley Fields, ST5 7HL
⚽ AFC Bradwell vs The Vine FC

Then the following Sunday we turn our attention to the Cup, where we welcome Ball Green WMC, who currently play a league above us. 🏆

Another tough challenge, but a brilliant opportunity for the lads to test themselves against higher-league opposition — and this time we’re back at Spring Bank, so we’d love to see as many Vine supporters there as possible!

⚽ FULL TIME: THE VINE FC 2–0 TUNSTALL UNITED FC ⚽

A brilliant result for The Vine this morning as the lads secured a 2–0 win and our first clean sheet! 💚🖤

It was an evenly contested first half with chances at both ends, but neither side could find the breakthrough. S. Davies produced a great save to keep Tunstall out and make sure we went into the break 0–0.

The Vine stepped it up in the second half and finally found the opening goal through A. Ellerton, putting us 1–0 ahead. 💥

E. Birkin then added the second to give us some breathing room and secure all three points.

The lads saw the game out brilliantly from there, keeping Tunstall off the scoresheet and recording our first clean sheet of the season. 👏

No post-match comment from the Tunstall manager… apparently he wasn’t in the mood for one after the final whistle. 👀😂

FULL TIME:

⚽ A. Ellerton
⚽ E. Birkin
🧤 First clean sheet!

A massive well done to everyone involved and thank you to everyone who came down to support the lads! 💚⚽🍻

The Vine Pittshill FC vs Holditch Miners Development FC

The Vine Pittshill took on Holditch Miners Dev for the second time this season hoping to avenge the loss from our previous meeting.

We started lively with some lovely passages of play from the midfield and the front three. A high press paid off when Kai found the back of the net to give the vine the lead 1-0.

Holditch upped their game and started to test the Vine back four. A smart attack from Holditch found a player in space who slotted it home against the Vine number 1.

Half time 1-1

After a half time talk from tud lasso and gaz beard, the lads started the 2nd half on top with a wonder strike from Alfie finding the top corner. This lad doesn’t know what a tap in is.

Holditch kept the pressure on but the lads weren’t letting them through. JT stepped up and scored a worldie, someone’s going for goal of the season.

After a difficult battle the team came out with the first win of the season.

⚽ FULL TIME: HAZLEHURST ARMS FC 2–2 THE VINE FC ⚽

A hard-fought game this morning as The Vine came away with a point after an entertaining 2–2 draw against Hazlehurst Arms. 🍇⚽

Both sides battled from start to finish, with neither team able to find that decisive winner. E Birkin and Kai Williams were on the scoresheet for The Vine, while K Lee and G Howell got the goals for Hazlehurst.

Another point on the board for the lads and plenty of positives to take from the performance. 💪

⚽ Hazlehurst Arms: K Lee, G Howell
⚽ The Vine: E Birkin, Kai Williams

FULL TIME: 2–2 🤝

Thanks to everyone who came down to support the lads, and all the best to Hazlehurst for the rest of the season.

🖤💛 UP THE VINE! 🍇⚽

⚽️🍇 FULL TIME | THE VINE 1–2 KNUTTON FC 🍇⚽️

Still searching for those first 3 league points, but another proper battle from the lads tonight. 💪

Knutton took the lead with a big header from one of their lads, giving Shane no chance and putting them 1-0 up.

Then one of their defenders decided he was Vincent Kompany for the night 😂 Stepped up and let one fly when he had absolutely no right to shoot from there… straight in. Fair play. 2-0 Knutton. 🚀

Knutton carried on looking dangerous with balls over the top, and during one of them, one of their lads apparently decided it was time to teach Shane how to front flip 🤸‍♂️😂

The Vine weren’t done though. Alfie E stepped up and buried one from the edge of the box to drag us right back into it at 2-1. ⚽️🔥

A bit of handbags followed 👜, a few questionable calls 👀 and plenty of fight from both sides, but we couldn’t quite find the equaliser before the final whistle.

FT: The Vine 1–2 Knutton FC

Not the result we wanted, but we go again. That first league win is coming! 💚🍇⚽️
