Sunday just gone we faced White Hart Smallthorne at home in our second time round facing these after we took 3 points the first time round, we all knew they wanted redemption this time. ⚽️

The game started and we looked the better footballing side playing our football moving it around and creating chances. White Hart scored first from a corner but after the ref decided there was a push in the back the score was back level at 0-0 and it lit a spark inside us!⚡️

Against the run of play White Harts danger man Leon managed to get in on goal and fire one low under Ethan in net to open the score at 1-0.

After conceding and being the better side not one head dropped! Captain Leon Kirk then took it upon himself to level the score with a great finish from outside the box after taking a touch and firing one top bins past the keeeper. 3 for the season for Leon so far as he adds another to the tally ⚽️

Shortly after we continued to pile on the pressure and we started to see their lads getting worked up with each other, and after winning a corner we saw the opportunity to take it short and change the angle of delivery as they weren’t set up and ready to react. Jack Palmer whips a great ball into the box and Brad Christie rises highest to beat his man and head the ball home making it 2-1. A quick turn around in the game and we were hungry for more!🏆

We continued our play as the game was still 0-0 creating chances but unfortunately nothing could be converted home. Forcing them to play long and backwards was our aim now and we executed it perfectly. Shoutout to their keeper aswell tbf had a brilliant game 🙌🏼

HT 2-1

A quick change at HT saw Liam on and Jacob off after working his socks off he deserved a rest 💤

Second half White Hart stepped their game up but we continued to play football and kept knocking at the door.🚪 As the game went on we held onto our 2-1 lead and looked to be taking all 6 points from White Hart this season. But… corner after corner the pressure was piling up and after we dealt with everything that came our way the last kick of the game decided the fate of this one.

After a controversial corner Hart send everyone into the box including keeper and after not winning the first ball but half clearing the second the ball bounced to a Hart shirt in the 6 yard box and he fired it home to end the game at 2-2. 🤦🏽‍♂️

A great game to watch really and a much better performance than the last 3 weeks! ✅ We were really unfortunate not to take all 3 points home today but football is football you win some you lose some. Huge positives to take from the game and 4 points in total off White Hart this season.

We now look forward to next week where we face a very good side in Kidsgrove Labour Club from the division below in the T.B Williamson Trophy🏆

Thankyou to everyone for your support ⚫️🔵

Sunday just gone we faced Wellington FC away from home and it didn’t go to plan at all. Leaving at full time with a 5-0 defeat didn’t feel good!🤦🏽‍♂️

We couldn’t deal with their direct play on a small pitch and it resulted to us defending for 75% of the game! A few key lads missing but that shouldn’t change the way we play and it did Sunday. Gaffa pointed out after exactly where we went wrong and everyone agreed we didn’t turn up and want it and they certainly did.❌

What’s done is done though now and we look forward to next week against White Hart Smallthorne at home where 3 points are needed!⚽️

An update on your GW4 and GW5 MOTM!🏆

GW4 - Liam Anderson 🏆
GW5 - Blade Barrow 🏆

Another 2 well deserved MOTM awards! Liams gave everything this season since coming back and he’s showing his talent on the pitch racking up goals and assists!⚽️

Blade would honestly head a house brick if we threw it up and asked him to 🧱😂 In all honesty handled a well seasoned ST and won everything in the air! 🤷🏽‍♂️
