The Potters Bar FC

After the conclusion of our season on Sunday and fourth straight win in a row saw us finish 7th in division four and seven points of second which pretty much sums up this division this year. It’s been an up and down season going into match day six top of the league on the back of three straight wins at the end of September to then loosing games from promising positions being 2-0 up. And 2-1 up with a minute to go saw us start dropping down the rankings. Some tough draws in many of the cup games we had to play saw us play many higher division sides which the lads always turned up and tried their best! Second half of the season we found our selves in a relegation battle, but the lads can hold their heads high as they rolled their selves up and got the job done! Something that would of been really disappointing with the squad we’ve had this year. A massive Thankyou from manager Tommy & Assistant gaffer Barn and the players to everyone who has followed the lads this season and turned up to support them week in week out. We will be back next season better and stronger!

WE ARE STAYING UP!!
A fantastic final win of the season for the lads and to complete 4 straight wins in a row to seal the season and confirm our status in staying in division 4 next season! A position we still can’t believe we were in. The first half the lads were on top throughout, but struggled to find the break through after creating many chances. Against the run of play Eccleshall nearly took the lead from a counter attack and hit the bar. HT 0–0. Second half the lads upped it a notch and five minutes after coming on Bradders received the ball and drove into the Eccleshall box saw his cross blocked, but when the ball bounced back to him he fired the ball under their keeper to give us the lead. Half way through the second half Ibbo calmed all the nerves around the place by calmly slotting the ball to double our lead and put us 2-0 up. With fifteen minutes left to play we conceded a penalty to give Eccleshall nothing, but a consolation. 2-1. FT 2-1. Shoutout to the Eccleshall manger refusing to shake mangers tommys hand at the end big baby!!

MOTM- Vitta. Started in the 6 and was absolutely brilliant all first half. Second half moved to right back and again was solid, no nonsense defending and nothing went past him!

Finally in what has felt like a lifetime for the first time in three weeks it’s game day week! The lads are back in action this Sunday for the final time this season where they face Eccleshall! The lads are currently on a three game win streak, which saw them beat Eccleshall 6-2 in that run. The lads know what’s a stake for the final game of the season and it promises to be a cracker!
