MATCH REPORT| Ball Green 3-2 Barley Mow Development
Sunday league on a Wednesday night was a treat for the lads as we faced barley Mow Development
Barley started the stronger of the two sides as the boys tried to find their feet in the game. The back 4 of Ethan Barlow, Shane Wallace, Joshua Kirton and Korbyn Smith stood tall dealing with any threat coming their way.
Ball Green were forced into an early change with James Kania making way for Dillon Gasken. This had an impact on the side as Dyl dummied a throw down the line right into Connor Kirkland’s path who beat 2 defenders and played it across for Jack Podmore who rounded the goalkeeper and tapped it in the back of the net. 1-0 Ball Green.
Barley were caught out once again as Kirky got on the end of a diagonal over the top pass once again beating his man he pulled the ball back to Dyl on the edge making a cup of tea with the time he had. Dyl then fools everyone with one of the best air shots I’ve ever seen with the ball falling to captain Fantastic Paul Preston, burying home on his weaker foot. Absolute scenes considering he couldn’t score from 6 yards against AnB last year. 2-0 Ball Green
The half wasn’t done just quite yet as barley converted a free kick on the edge of the box. With Luke’s hands going full James Dale and ghosting. 2-1.
Subs were made at halftime, with Maca coming on for Kirky; Aiden and Rory Bowyer replacing Korb and Ethan and Poddy coming on for Presso
Barley started strong once again with a midfielder driving from deep and burying into the bottom left corner from range. 2-2.
Kirky then came back on for Jack Podmore, Alfie coming on for Dill, Korb coming on for Shane, and Poddy being replaced by Presso with both teams scrapping for a winner.
In the dying minutes of the games sweeping ball over the top was sent over the barley back line who had pushed up. Maca had to leave it because he was offside and the ball fell straight to the path of Kirky. The number 10 beating his man for pace and calmly finishing with the outside of his boot to win the game. 3-2 Ball Green
MOTM: Rob Pace won this by a clear margin, dominating the midfield and winning every challenge he went into.
DOTD: AAiden Chad Late, ran the line and also his mouth
Thank you to Barley Mow development for the game and best of luck for the rest of the season 🤝🏼.

MATCH REPORT| Ball Green 1-2 Robin Hood
Well, let’s just say the boys just didn’t turn up and play today.
It’s one of those weeks what we just need write off. Ball Green started slow but Bottys press and hard work payed off as a ball went to be cleared, Botty bulldozed his way through with the ball ricocheting into the back of the net from quite a distance.
1-0 Ball Green
We made changes at half time but things never really changed, Robin Hood ended up getting a goal off a corner. 1-1
then in the games final minutes, our very own Ethan unluckily scoring an own goal. Today was one to forget. 2-1 Robin Hood
DOTD: James Dale for forgetting how play football and Connor Kirkland for refusing run the line.
Thank you to Robin Hood for the game and good luck for the season 🤝🏻
Thank you to our home kit sponsor - The Village Spice
We go again Wednesday against a very good Barley Mow B looking to bounce back!

MATCH REPORT| Ball Green 1-0 Cheshire Cheese
Some things are a given in life: Aiden Chad not showing up after England play, Jack Podmore sleeping in on game day and Dan Hart being unable to play a forward pass.
The heat was horrible for both teams but they both gave their all as the opening of the game was very closely contested. A few snap shots from both teams and both defences dealing with whatever came their way brilliantly.
Ball Green then went on the offensive as Connor Kirkland hunted down a loose touch from the Cheese player, winning the 50/50, then beating another man but gets pulled back in the process winning Ball Green a free kick.
He’s definitely been watching Argentina this World Cup. he springs up like a dick and his first reaction is to wave a card at the referee bringing out his inner South American. Getting himself carded and then cheese player carded for the pull back. Presso loves that for the fine pot.
Jacko and Kirky both stood over the dangerous free kick, it was Ryan Jackson who floated a ball toward the back post with the cheese player getting up well and clearing. Ending the memorable action of the first half.
Press roulette was back this week too as he’d been watching too much Thomas Tuchel. Martin podmore coming on for Kirky; Dillon Gasken on for Taylor Magee; Cameron Matthew Baddeley on for Paul Preston; Ethan Barlow on for Korbyn Smith, and making his return to the side after an operation, Rory Bowyer is subbed on for Ryan Jackson who was fantastic all first half
Presso rolled his dice once again. Bringing James Kania on for Jack Podmore and Tay Magee back on for Jordan Henderson. Sorry, I meant Dan Hart who also has a fantastic game today.
And what a substitution this was. Cameron picking up the ball in midfield playing James Kania in, sprinting down the line. Round the goalkeeper, being taken out in the process for a ball green Penalty. Stepping up to redeem himself was no other than Martin Podmore. The number 17 steps up and buries the penalty, sending the Keeper the wrong way. Never in doubt Poddy 😬.
1-0 Ball Green
Presso made more changes bring Kirky back on for Botty who later came back on up front and bringing himself back on for Tay Magee.
The Cheese threw men forward for a corner which was defended well, which then lead to a Ball Green break with Kirky getting on the end of the loose ball into Dill who returned the favour back down the line with Kirky then weighting a ball into the box for the onrushing James Kania rounding the goalkeeper, but the surprisingly lays Dill off in the box who blazes the ball over the bar. Great chance to make it 2-0 right at the death.
The game then fizzled out to FT. A really good game of football from both sides. A massive thank you to the Cheshire Cheese boys for a great game and for coming back to the club for some well earned food and a drink. Best of luck for the rest of the season 🍻
