The boys were back at The Amazon Rainforest this week as we look to take on AFC Bradwell who have shown some great results in recent friendlies.

Cameron Matthew Baddeley comes into the side after a fantastic run of form. With Aiden Chad coming in for ‘Rough as Toast’ Jacko at fullback.

The game started with great pressure from Ball Green. Not long after the pressure soon paid off as Botty started a great move by playing a weighted pass in behind the Bradwell defence to Connor Kirkland who gets on the end of it and plays a wonderful outside of the foot pass across the box to Jack Podmore coming in at the back post, who buries it in the corner first time. The front 3 linking up with quality. 1-0 Ball Green.

Botty was causing problems for the Bradwell defence not long after this. Drawing a foul from his man outwide. Connor Kirkland stepped up to take the resulting freekick, delivering a wicked ball in from the wide area, running all the way through everyone and past the goalkeeper into the far corner. 2-0 Ball Green.

Another chance came for the boys as yet again Botty played the ball behind the Bradwell backline for Kirky who rounds the goalkeeper but gets taken out for a penalty.
Stepping up to take it himself and hitting a worse penalty than Gabriel against PSG. The Bradwell goalkeeper did well to get a foot to it, but doesn’t change the fact the it was a shocking penalty. Bottom of the list now Kirky 👍🏻

Bradwell used this as slight momentum as they delivered a few dangers corners and balls in behind but they were delt with by the ball green backline Shane Wallace and Joshua Kirton winning everything, proving why they are irreplaceable at the minute.

Ball green went on the attack once again as Jack podmore plays a ball down the line to Kirky making a run down the line selling his defender and being brought down yet again only just on the edge of the box (shockingly yet again, getting injured in the process) Kirky clipped the freekick toward the back post with Josh steaming in and Heading just wide of the post. Which lead to the first set of the of Ball Green substitutions with Kirky hobbling off yet again to be replaced by goal threat Shawn Southall, Rob Pace coming on for Dan Hart and Dillon Gasken, back in the squad, replacing Cameron Baddeley.

Half time came and Press roulette came into full effect with; Korbyn Smith and Aiden Chadwick, who both had great first halves, made way for The ghost of Ball Green V2 James Dale and Dan Parr. Taylor Magee De Bruyne Replacing Paul Preston and the Podmore brothers swapping places as Martin Podmore Replaces Jack Podmore.

The second half began with and quite an even display and Bradwell put the pressure on but the ball green back line stayed strong and dealt with everything coming their way.

The 3rd goal came when Dillon Gasken was moved onto the wing making his way into the box, turning his defender and ball green win another penalty. Showing Kirky how to strike a ball, Dill smashed the ball into the back of the net with a great Penalty. 3-0 Ball Green.

To their credit, This didn’t stop Bradwell. They came forward once again. Winning a corner, which got flashed low across the box. All the way through the Ball Green defenders leaving the unmarked Bradwell player to smash home. 3-1.

After that Presso got bored again and made more changes with Aiden and Korbyn coming on for Shane and Josh; Jack Podmore on for Botty and Cameron Baddeley back on for Martin Podmore.

This had an impact on the ball green side as Cameron played a short corner to Jack and the number 7 was brought down inside the box to win ball green yet another penalty. It was executed brilliantly by Jack, slotting it in the bottom corner. 4-1 Ball Green.

The boys weren’t done yet as Shawn Southall was looking for his customary goal. He soon got this as a mistake from the Bradwell defender gave the ball to Dillon, whipping a great ball across the box for the number 9 to bury into the bottom corner. 5-1 Ball Green.

This still wasn’t enough for Shawn. Getting on the end of an excellent through ball from Dan Hart. Taking a touch and burying it into the top corner from a tight angle with an outrageous finish. 6-1 Ball Green.

Man of the match was tough today as: JD the ghost, Cameron, Shane, Josh and Jack all had fantastic games. But Josh snatches it this week with another quality performance yet again.

Dick of the day goes to: Aiden Chadwick. The sunstroke from last week must’ve finally caught up with him as he ‘flapped it’ according to Jacko and also got himself a Sin bin in the process. Nice one Mr Ball Green 👍🏻

Ball Green were back at home this week against Pool Dole after a dominant performance against AFC Wolstanton last week.

Ball Green got the game underway dominant of possession, Taylor Magee playing in a more advanced role these past few weeks, found Kirky making a run off the back of his man who tried the first time shot just dribbling wide of the post.

The chances kept coming for ball green as a deep free kick was swung in by Connor Kirkland toward the back post then met by a bullet header from Botty, leaping above his man forces the pool dole goalkeeper into an incredible save.

Botty came on strong right from the off as he always does, beating his man and winning a few corners which were swung in by Kirky, one of which falling to Tay Magee with the goal at his Mercy and he decided to run the other way instead of shooting but it was more positive from Ball Green.

Until a long clipped ball over the top bounced over the back line, Joshua Kirton getting the wrong side of the Pool Dole Striker and clipping his ankles for a penalty. Despite Ian Stanway best efforts, the penalty was converted. 1-0

Pool dole then capitalised on more errors at the back from Ball Green as the ball was swung in towards the back post as Ball Green failed to clear a Pool Dole corner and their player buried the chance to make to 2-0.

This lead to Player/Manager, Paul Preston to make some changes. Jack Podmore returning to the side after a 5 week hangover coming on for Kirky ,as he needed the toilet. Dan Parr also making his return coming on for Ryan Jackson and Dan Hart making way for Cameron Matthew Baddeley who had impressed in recent weeks. This saw more positivity in ball green yet again but the game fizzled out to Half time: 2-0.

The second half began a lot more lively for the boys, and the pressure paid off as Jack Podmore pounced on a loose pass from the pool dole centre back slotting it just over the keepers leg to bring Ball Green back into the game. 2-1

Presso Guardiola made changes yet again. Connor Kirkland, fresh from the toilet, coming on for Shawn Southall and Dan Hart also coming on for Taylor Magee.

The impact was almost immediate from ball green as a clever throw from Botty down the line into the path of Kirky, beat his man and got clipped in the back of the calf to win a penalty. Giving the ball to Jack Podmore who converted the penalty with precision. 2-2

Ball Green applied more pressure as Jack Podmore beat his man down the line cuts the ball back to Kirky having his shot turned over the bar by the defender winning a corner. From the resulting corner Kirky whips the ball into the back post, over the stranded Pool Dole goalkeeper giving Ball Green the lead for the first time in the game. 3-2

Shawn Southall came back into the fray with Kirky coming back off with yet another injury - Ruthless Ball Green went forward once again, with Botty beating two players once again and putting the ball across the box into a dangerous area for Dan Hart to get on the end of inside the 6 yard box and slot home. 4-2

And to finally top the game off, a signature Jordan Henderson, Sorry I meant, Dan Hart corner failed to beat the first man. The ball coming back out to him, delivering a fantastic whipping ball second time round right onto the head of the ball green number 7, Jack Podmore, who completes his hattrick. Rounding off a top performance which took us to full time. 5-2.

Man of the match shouts for; Botty, who was fantastic on the wing yet again constantly causing problems for the back line and Cameron Baddley influencing the game with yet again coming on, but the one winner this week has to go to Hattrick Hero; Jack Podmore . A fantastic display, topped with a hattrick shows why we’re all happy to see him back in the side.

Massive thank you to Pool Dole FC, who gave brilliant fight during the game and for coming back the pub afterwards, good luck for the rest of this season and next.

⚽A charity football match will take place this weekend. TOPO'S XI will take on ANB Athletics at Eastwood Hanley on Sunday (May 24). Proceeds from the event, which will get underway from 12.30pm at the Trentmill Road ground, will go to Max Appeal - a charity that supports families living with 22q syndrome (DiGeorge), a condition that can cause a range of lifelong problems including heart defects and learning difficulties.
In addition to the match there will be a bar, glitter tattoos, burger van, and penalty shootout. Admission is £3 for adults while there'll also be a raffle with strips priced at £2.
