This Sunday sees Pool Dole FC take on Knutton FC in our final friendly of 2026 and the last game of pre-season.

It’s been a good pre-season for the lads, getting minutes in the legs, building the squad and preparing ourselves for the season ahead. Now there’s one final test before the competitive football starts. 🔥

It’s matchday and we’re finally at Fenton Park as we welcome AFC Burslem for another big test.

The lads will be looking to build on recent performances and put in another strong display in front of the home support. Every voice on the sidelines makes a difference, so come down, get behind the team and help create a great atmosphere.

Shocking start today for the Dole (the worst I’ve seen)
Warm up awful couldn’t string 2 passes together ,couldn’t get shots on target and that was the warm up

We took the shocker into the start of the game couldn’t find a pass couldn’t control a ball
(All while playing into the 💨 no excuse)

The Vine played a ball down there left hand side a great first time shot,Doles keeper beaten but cross bar to the rescue

Dole completely out the game
Like headless chickens
Vines number 9 turns inside and a great finish top of the net from outside the box.

20 mins in struggling to put 2 to 3 passes together

Dole go through on goal Win consecutive corners but Vine clear with ease

Dole throw on our left spread out to the right good ball in
Vine win an a header back to there keeper

Vines second goal came from there right handside an hopeful ball in and went through the side netting
Ref was having none of it

No where near good enough

Right on half time lovely play I to the Vines box shot on target Vine blocked

Second half started -Delayed so Vine could secure the side netting 🤔

Dole started better winning free kick edge of the box -good effort slightly wide

Great battle from Zak with Vine centre back who went to the ground like he’d been shot

Quick throw Zak battled to get through two players
Pass through to Rob good effort
And followed in by Eddy who followed in 2-2

Vine goal kick won in the middle of the park by Deano
Ball forward Vines defender slight touch from an header
Tried to defend it back to the keeper but great battling from Eddy Vine 2-Dole 3

Vines throw won in the centre of the pitch by the Dole
ball forward and Eddy pops up with his 4th

After a great corner into the box
Won on the Doles left hand side again Duracell Bunny Rob got the ball in some play on the box and we should of been 5 but keeper pushed it wide
Dole piled the pressure Deano tried a bicycle kick ( Eric cantona style )

Corner kick scored direct from Rob who in the 90th minute said he was just warming up

A huge month lies ahead as we kick off our first competitive league campaign.

We’ve got three home league fixtures, an away trip to Cheadle SMU, before rounding off the month with a Cup Preliminary Round clash at home against Pioneer Sports Bar.

Another Sunday, another challenge.

Pool Dole FC are back in action as we take on The Vine, Pitts Hill this Sunday, 26th July, looking to keep our good form going and continue building momentum ahead of the season.
