Following recent events, Driving 2ition has taken the decision to change how we celebrate our clients’ driving test successes on social media.

With immediate effect, we will no longer be publishing photographs of pupils who pass their driving test.

Instead, we will celebrate every success using a generic Driving 2ition graphic showing only the client’s first name and their test result, as always, only with the clients consent.

This decision has been made to better protect all of our clients, particularly those under the age of 18.

We have recently become aware of reports that photographs of successful learner drivers have been copied from driving instructor social media pages and reposted elsewhere online without consent, accompanied by offensive, degrading and inappropriate comments. No learner should have their achievement exploited in this way.

Safeguarding has always been a priority at Driving 2ition. While we have always obtained permission before sharing photographs, once an image is placed on a public platform it can be copied, downloaded, altered and redistributed beyond anyone’s control.

As part of this change, we will also begin removing previously published pass photographs from our social media pages and replacing them with our new generic pass announcement graphics. We appreciate this will take some time, but the process has already begun.

Our clients work incredibly hard to earn their driving licence, and that achievement deserves to be celebrated safely and respectfully.
