The effort, work rate, teamwork and determination tonight were absolutely brilliant. To put in a performance like that against a Division 1 side, who I honestly think will be right up near the top of their league, makes tonight even more impressive!
We genuinely cannot fault anyone tonight. ❤️
What was especially fantastic to see was how well you all worked for each other. We made so many changes and variations from the sideline, and every single one of you adapted perfectly. That shows just how much you are learning, developing and trusting each other as a team.
Week by week, the things we work on in training are being taken onto that pitch and tonight was a perfect example of that! 👏⚽️
Take that confidence, belief and work rate into the new season and we will be smashing it. 😆💪🏻⚽️

⚽️ MATCH REPORT | Oldbury v Galaxy Comets ⚽️

Well done to all our Galaxy Comets girls today! 💙☄️

It was a slow start in some really difficult conditions — wet, cold and absolutely horrible! 🌧️🥶 Things certainly weren’t easy, and against a physical Oldbury side the girls had to really battle.

But what made us incredibly proud was the way the team responded in the second half. Despite being a few goals down, soaking wet and freezing cold, you all got stuck in, became more physical, switched on and never backed down once! 💪⚽️

Week by week, we can see the improvement in this team. One thing that really stands out is that we don’t capitulate — we keep fighting, keep believing and keep going until the final whistle. And because of that determination, we’re scoring goals every week! 🙌⚽️

It’s fantastic to see the things we work on in training starting to show out on the pitch. There are always things to work on going forward, but there is absolutely no doubt that we are heading in the right direction. ☄️💙

⚽ Oldbury United 4–2 Galaxy Comets ⚽

What an emotional roller coaster of a game for the girls today! 💙⚽

After a difficult first half, going into the break 3–1 down, the girls came out in the second half and showed fantastic character. We controlled the game, applied some brilliant pressure and limited Oldbury United to very few chances.

We managed to pull another goal back through our Galaxy scorers, Larna and Amelia, and kept pushing right until the final whistle. We hit the post, forced a fantastic save from their keeper and created plenty of opportunities. On another day, we definitely could have come away with at least a draw.

Every single player gave 100%, and that is all we can ask for as coaches. The girls never gave up, kept fighting and showed just how much they are improving every week. There are so many positives to take from today.

A special well done to Alice, our Player of the Match, for being composed on the ball, working incredibly hard and giving everything for the team. 👏

Keep working hard, girls. The wins are coming — we can feel it! 💪⚽🏆

What can I say... that was simply brilliant! 🤩

From the first whistle to the last, every single one of you gave absolutely everything. You played as a team, worked tirelessly for one another and showed exactly what Galaxy Comets is all about. The commitment, determination and togetherness on display tonight was outstanding.

We've now played two teams who are expected to be right up there in the league this season, and honestly there has been nothing between us. We matched them every step of the way with our work rate, confidence on the ball, quality of passing and the chances we created. It was an absolute joy to watch.

Every player on that pitch was electric tonight. You should all sleep well because you left absolutely everything out there. I was exhausted just watching! 😂

The thing that impressed me most was your attitude. Heads never dropped. You kept battling, encouraging each other and believing right until the final whistle. That resilience is what great teams are built on.

The goals will come. If we keep playing with the confidence, intensity and togetherness we showed tonight, they are only around the corner. Once that first one goes in, everyone's confidence will grow even more.

This is honestly the best I've seen these girls play. The progress you've all made is incredible, and if this is how we're performing against the league's strongest sides, then this season is going to be a very exciting one.

⚽️ Match Report | Cradley Town DC 3–0 Galaxy Comets U13 Girls 🪐💙
Today we travelled to Dudley Wood to take on Cradley Town DC.
Firstly, we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Cradley Town DC for the warm welcome and for a friendly, competitive match played in the very best spirit. Both teams showed fantastic respect, determination and sportsmanship throughout, making it a real pleasure to be involved.
The final score finished 3–0 to Cradley Town DC, but the scoreline certainly doesn't tell the full story. It was an entertaining game with both teams creating opportunities, and on another day the result could easily have gone either way.
We couldn't be prouder of our girls. Every single week we are seeing huge improvements, and today was another brilliant example of just how far this team has come. We created plenty of chances, moved the ball well, made some outstanding tackles and worked tirelessly for one another. The commitment, teamwork and desire to win the ball back were there from the first whistle until the last.
The work rate from every single player was simply sensational. To maintain that level of intensity in the heat, on a pitch that felt like concrete underfoot, was incredible. Every player gave absolutely everything, and that's all we can ever ask.
Defensively we were organised and disciplined, limiting Cradley to very few clear opportunities. Whenever they did break through, Jess was there to make some fantastic saves and keep us in the game. Cradley's three well-taken goals proved to be the difference, but every player, from our goalkeeper through to our strikers, can hold their heads high after such a determined performance.
A special mention also goes to Cradley Town DC for their wonderful gesture in selecting Jess as their opposition Player of the Match. That recognition meant a great deal and was a fantastic example of the respect shown by everyone involved. Thank you once again for your kindness and sportsmanship.

What a day for the Galaxy Comets! Every game brought a different challenge, but the girls showed incredible determination, teamwork, and resilience throughout. We worked hard, played some fantastic football, earned well-deserved draws against two of the strongest teams there, and competed brilliantly against some very good opposition. One of the standout performances came against a particularly strong side where we were positive, brave on the ball, and defended so well that Jess didn't have a single save to make. Even when results or decisions didn't go our way, the girls never stopped battling and gave absolutely everything for the team. Looking back at where we started and comparing it to where we are now, the improvement is clear for everyone to see. The effort, commitment, and friendships developing within this squad are something to be proud of, and it's exciting to think where this team can be in a few months' time. Most importantly, thank you to our amazing parents whose support and encouragement from the sidelines means so much to the girls. Watching this team grow together makes us incredibly proud, and if today showed us anything, it's that there are some very exciting times ahead for the Comets.
