What a fantastic day for Wordsley Wasps Queens at the Kewford Tournament!

As the tournament was 5-a-side, we had to split the squad into two teams as fairly as possible (thanks ChatGPT! 😂).

💛 Team 2 were outstanding throughout the group stages, going unbeaten and playing some brilliant football. Unfortunately, they narrowly missed out on a place in the final after a hard-fought 1-0 defeat in the semi-final. They were so unlucky and should be incredibly proud of their performances.

🖤 Team 1 had a bit of a bumpy start, but in true Queens fashion they dug deep, worked together, and showed fantastic character. Their determination paid off as they reached the final against Sedgley White Lions and came away with a brilliant 2-0 victory! Fantastic football was played throughout, with plenty of grit, teamwork and determination on display.

A huge well done to both teams today. The effort, attitude and support for each other was incredible from every single player. We are so proud of you all and what you’ve achieved together. 👏⚽💛🖤

Wordsley Wasps Queens travelled to Withymoor for our final game of the season — and what a brilliant way to finish!

It was a great last game and gave the girls the chance to have some fun and try out different positions, which they all absolutely loved.

The Queens have had an amazing first season together, losing only 1 game all season, finishing 2nd in the league, scoring an incredible 148 team goals and keeping 9 clean sheets! ⚽💛🖤

We’re so proud of every single player and can’t wait to see what next season brings for this fantastic team.
