Good Luck to Sudbury crews racing at Lea Spring Regatta today.

Yesterday, members from both the masters and senior squads traveled up to Bedford to compete in the Spring Head or the River with 3 crews racing through various weather conditions including sun, wind and rain - with some encouraging and triumphant results!

First up in their double was Simon White and Robin King who raced in the masters F 2x finishing in a time of 7:50 seconds, but it was their second time round in the GI 2x category that saw them claim the trophy in 7:44 seconds! They no doubt used the knowledge that they had gained from the first race to better themselves here, congratulations to both for such a gritty row 🏆

Also competing in the masters GI category was Jeremy Milbank and John McCarthy in their 2x, with Jeremy setting up a good racing line. The pair put in their best efforts to chase down Robin and Simon but alas they were pipped to the post, but not before they put in a valiant effort themselves coming away with an encouraging adjusted time of 8:03 seconds.

Next up was the senior Women’s quad with Victoria Burgess, Evie Prager, Roxy Hall and Zoe Rodgers, who competed in the band 2.4x. With 7 boats in their category, it looked like stiff competition, but the girls grabbed this challenge by the horns and rowed the course in a time of 7:20 seconds to take the win by 15 seconds 🏆

Well done to everyone who raced, we look forward now to the opening of regatta season and hopefully more wins to come!
