Sunderland City battled their way to a massive 4–3 victory over Top House in a thrilling game that had everything. End-to-end football, goals flying in and plenty of hard work from the lads right until the final whistle.

The boys showed heart, character and determination to come away with the win and take all three points. 💪⚽️

With 23 kids turning up this morning.

This morning was all about Minions and Monsters (Irene the slime monster or Ashton to others)

The kids were brilliant!!

Result: Win 👏

What a proper shift from the lads today. We started on the front foot and didn’t have to wait long for the breakthrough, with Freddie finding the back of the net just five minutes in to get us up and running.

Rutherford Swifts responded well and threw a lot of pressure our way, but our shape and communication at the back were superb. Midway through the first half, a brilliant run and nice bit of vision from Cam, making his debut for the club, picked out Cody, who finished it off nicely to double our advantage.

The second half turned into a really competitive, end-to-end battle. We made a fair few positional changes to keep the energy levels high, with lads rotating into different roles and adapting brilliantly to do a job for the team.

The opposition managed to pull a goal back late on in the 48th minute, which made for a tense finish. But rather than dropping their heads, the boys showed fantastic character and resilience to dig deep, defend as a unit, and see out the result.

🏅 Player of the Match: 'Iron Gloves' Olly
An absolutely massive performance between the sticks today. Olly made an unbelievable 14 saves to keep us in the lead during some really heavy spells of opposition pressure. His positioning, handling, and concentration were faultless from the first whistle to the last. A true brick wall! 🧤
