Group Stage
Game 1: Ryhope CW FC Youth 0 – 0 Humbledon & Plains Farm
The tournament opener proved to be a thrilling, end-to-end defensive battle, largely defined by an inspired performance from Oliver between the posts. Humbledon signaled their intent early by shooting wide left, but we quickly responded when Lincoln took a brilliant first touch and laid the ball off to Finley, whose low shot was saved on the left side of the goal.
Humbledon pushed back, dragging a shot wide right before Oliver made his first crucial save on the right side of his goal.
We continued to press, with Preston seeing a free kick deflect wide left and Lincoln volleying wide right from a corner.
As the match hung in the balance, Oliver produced a magnificent one-on-one save with his legs to deny Humbledon.
Will then sent an effort wide right, while Finley was denied when his post-corner strike was heroically blocked on the line.
Oliver closed out with another one-on-one save and stopping a final strike on the right side of his goal to secure a well-earned clean sheet.

Game 2: Ryhope CW FC Youth 0 – 1 South Tyneside Hurricanes
Another tight, high-intensity match saw us pushed to our limit by a sharp South Tyneside outfit.
The Hurricanes opened the chances by shooting wide right, but Oliver was alert early once again, making a key save at his near left post.
After the Hurricanes dragged another effort wide left, Oliver was called into action high in the goal.
The breakthrough came in the tenth minute when we unfortunately lost possession on the edge of their own box, allowing the Hurricanes to punish the mistake by firing a clinical shot into the right side of the net.
We fought valiantly for a late equaliser, and with the final kick of the game, Preston volleyed just over the crossbar following a corner.

Game 3: Ryhope CW FC Youth 5 – 1 Silksworth Youth Reds
We hit our attacking stride in sensational fashion during their third group game, putting on a goalscoring masterclass. Charlie H set the tempo with a cross-shot that flashed wide right, while Silksworth responded by shooting over the bar from distance.
Charlie D then saw an effort saved, but the pressure finally told in the third minute. High pressing forced Silksworth into losing the ball in their own defensive third, where Charlie H received it with his back to goal on the edge of the area, turned brilliantly, and swept a left-footed strike into the top left corner.
Thomas nearly doubled the lead following a rampaging run down the right flank, forcing a save at the near post. Leo then fired a powerful effort over the bar, while Lincoln caused chaos with a dangerous cross from the right that deflected just wide before shooting wide himself from a corner.
After Silksworth shot wide right, we struck again in the seventh minute when Lincoln set up Charlie D, who curled a sublime finish into the top right corner.
Preston shot wide left shortly after, but in the ninth minute, Charlie D took a quick kick-in, dribbled straight into the box, and slotted the ball cleanly into the bottom left corner for 3–0.
Silksworth managed to pull one back in the tenth minute when a shot from range was poked past Oliver from close range, but our response was immediate. Finley shot wide left, and after Lincoln’s follow-up effort was parried, Finley hit the rebound just wide right.
Charlie D fired wide once more before Thomas went on another strong run in the thirteenth minute; his shot was saved, but Finley was on hand to tap home the rebound.
After Charlie D beat three players on a mazy run that was deflected wide, we capped off a dominant display in stoppage time. Finley had a initial shot saved, gathered the rebound, and unselfishly set up Lincoln, who smashed the ball home to seal a sensational 5–1 victory.

Game 4: Ryhope CW FC Youth 0 – 1 Seaham Coast Yellows
With a spot in the knockout stages on the line, we faced a disciplined Seaham Coast outfit.
Finley looked dangerous early on, testing the keeper with a shot saved low to the left before whipping a free kick high into the goal, which was well held.
Seaham threatened at the other end by shooting wide right, and in the seventh minute, they found the decisive goal when a deep cross from the right found an unmarked attacker in the box to tap into the centre of the net.
Seaham shot wide left on a late counter-attack, but despite our pressing, the match ended in a narrow defeat.
Semi-Final
Ryhope CW FC Youth 0 – 0 Seaham Coast Yellows (Seaham win 2–0 on penalties)
We met Seaham Coast once again in a tense, end-to-end semi-final showdown. We started with real intent, as Thomas dragged a shot wide left after a powerful run down the right before forcing another central save from the Seaham keeper moments later.
Seaham responded with an effort wide right, but we pushed again, seeing Leo's central strike turned away.
Defensively, we stood resolute. Leo deflected a dangerous Seaham shot over the crossbar, and when a Seaham long ball bounced over our defence, Oliver rushed out quickly to pressure the attacker into lifting his first-time shot high over the target.
After Seaham sent a late free kick wide left, the referee blew for full-time on a scoreless draw.
The tie went straight to a penalty shootout to determine who would reach the final. Unfortunately, luck was not on our side, as we missed our first and second spot-kicks while Seaham converted twice to claim the victory.
