After three knee operations and two shoulder surgeries, I had to completely rethink what I was putting on my plate.

Exercise alone was not enough. What I ate every day was either supporting my joints or working against them.

These 5 foods are what I come back to consistently and what I now share with every client managing joint pain or recovering from injury.

Nothing complicated. Nothing you cannot find in your local supermarket.

You do not need to meal prep for hours every week. You need 5 meals you can rotate without thinking too hard about it.

As a Level 4 Personal Trainer and GP Exercise Referral Specialist working with adults 40 to 80, simplicity is the first thing I build into any nutrition plan. These 5 meals are high protein, quick to prepare, and realistic for busy people.

Not all carbs are the same. And after 50, the difference matters more than ever.

Your body becomes less efficient at managing blood sugar swings as you age. The foods on the left cause rapid spikes and crashes. The foods on the right provide steady, sustained energy without the afternoon slump.

This is one of the first things I address with clients managing blood sugar, Type 2 diabetes, or simply wanting more consistent energy through the day.
