Sutton Bowling Club Ltd

The Sutton Ladies Captain, Rita Fraser, held her Ladies Invitation Day on Tuesday 14th July at Sutton Bowling Club that proved to be a resounding success, with participants from twelve local clubs joining in the festivities. The players gave enthusiastic support to this year's Captain Rita's Bee theme. Attendees donned bee-striped outfits and wings, adding a cheerful buzz to the occasion. The event was marked by a friendly, but competitive competition, followed by a relaxing meal. Congratulations to Southey for clinching the competition, and a special mention goes to Jackie Cushion and Julia Fisher for winning the award for best dressed bee. The spirit of camaraderie and creativity was evident throughout, making it a memorable day for all involved.

Sutton Hosts BE Regional Final
On Sunday 14th June, Sutton Bowling Club Hosted the Bowls England, Southern Regional Final. Competitors came from Surrey, Hampshire, Sussex and Kent playing in an all day competition to qualify for the National Finals in Leamington to be held in August.
The sun shone and the quality of the bowling was excellent.

Congratulations to Danny Brown (Alton Social, Hampshire) and Mike McDonagh (Cheam, Surrey) for their success in qualifying for the National Finals.

On April 17th Sutton Indoor Bowling Club celebrated the end of a successful season with the "Last Hurrah" fun match. 64 bowlers played 3 games of 6 ends in teams of 4 across 4 rounds. It was a lot of fun with some good bowling. The pre-match "spider" was won by Terry Payne and the second prize by Marilyn Perilli. The overall tournament was won by Christine Sheehan, Ron Jones, Jane Castle and Tim Fleisig. The tournament ended with an excellent ploughman's lunch.

Sutton Bowling Club members again hosted the local Parkinson's Association members on the evening of 15th April. This was a fun evening attended by the London Borough of Sutton Mayor, Louise Phelan and organised by ex Sutton Member Martin Webb.

After some good bowling the evening was finished with an excellent buffet..
