Urgent Announcement Regarding Day 3 Swim Wales Winter Championships

We regret to inform you that due to the rare red Weather Warning issued by the Met Office that poses a risk to life, Swansea University has taken the decision to close all Swansea Bay Sports Park facilities on Saturday, 7th December 2024, which affects Wales National Pool Swansea.

Therefore, we regret to inform you that Day 3 of the Swim Wales Winter Championships has been cancelled. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to reschedule any races due to take place on Saturday the 7th of December 2024.

Event entry and spectator refunds will be issued as soon as possible. Direct emails will be sent to those affected (Saturday 7th December only).

Please note that the remainder of Day 2 (Friday 6th December) will continue as planned and is not affected by the closure.

Day 4 scheduled for Sunday the 8th of December 2024 is currently scheduled to take place as planned. We are closely monitoring the situation and will communicate any updates.

Please follow advice and guidance set by the Met Office when planning your journeys.

We appreciate that this news will be extremely disappointing and thank you for your co-operation and understanding.
