Bonymaen bowls club

We very definitely made the best of a rubbish situation today. 16 members took part in our club pairs tournament, a proper club afternoon.
In the final Rhidian Clement and Jeff Jones defeated Paul Brooks and David Jones, to become our 2026 champions and get their names on the trophy, not the first time for Rhidian but a first for Jeff.

In the absence of another Swansea Bowling Association division 1 match today, we are hastily arranging a club pairs tournament. Will be a bit of fun, but competitive, and the winners will receive the historic club pairs trophy.

Our scheduled Swansea Bowling Association division 1 fixture with Jersey Bowls Club tomorrow is cancelled as the opposition cannot raise a team. 😬😬
Our level of frustration with 2026 season grows

Moving on to close to 800 followers now, thank you all.
Thanks to those that have recently followed us, we'd like to mention 3 in particular.
Wayne Dempster , fine bowler in his time and used to play for us, also a fine bowls tourist, he now no longer bowls as he's set up his own camper van conversion business. If you're looking for someone to help with that look him up, see the photo attached.
Also, we'd like to welcome Arthur Hinton someone I know very well from his time playing for Mumbles BC but also from playing with him in the old Swansea Indoor club at the leisure centre. Mumbles and Bonymaen did have a series of pre-season friendlies years ago because of our friendship.
Arthur is also a former Secretary (correct me if I'm wrong) of the Swansea Bowling Association.
Also Tony Thomas long standing member of the now defunct but illustrious Old Landorians club and long time bowls organiser within the West Glamorgan County 👍🏻

We wish Coedgwilym good luck in the semi-final with Dunvant Druids Bowls Club to be played tomorrow evening.
Our next game is our next division 1 match with Jersey Bowls Club on Saturday.
