🔴⚫️ FULL TIME ⚫️🔴

Today we faced Mumbles Ladies, and from our previous game against them, we knew we were in for a tough battle.

The first half was difficult for us. We struggled to get on the ball and Mumbles put us under plenty of pressure, eventually taking a 1–0 lead. The girls kept digging in and battling until half-time to keep ourselves in the game. 💪

After some wise words from our management team at the break and pointing out where we were going wrong, the girls came out for the second half looking like a completely different team. We started playing our football and taking control. ❤️🖤

It didn’t take long to get our reward! Annie played a brilliant ball through to Abi, who took it past two Mumbles players before calmly slotting it into the bottom corner to make it 1–1! 🔥⚽️

Both teams had chances after that, including a HUGE effort from our very own Dharla, who absolutely smashed one off the crossbar! 😮‍💨 So unlucky!

The girls showed great character to turn things around in the second half and come away with the draw.

⚫️🔴⚽️ Saturday Results ⚽️🔴⚫️

No first team fixture, so just the 2nds in action!..

🔵⚫️ Brynawel AFC 3rds 0-1 Bony 2nds 🔴⚫️

After a disappointing result midweek, the boys wanted to put it right in first derby of the season.

We started well, and we were on top early doors. But nonetheless didnt, and couldnt find that killer pass in final third.

The home side created a few openings, but our back 4 did a good job of dealing with what was thrown at them.

Just after the 30 minute mark, having played through the lines, and hillary finding rhys wide right, in what was probably our first bit of quality in final 3rd, rhys cut inside onto his left and cross come shot glanced off the top of defender into the far corner 0-1. 👏

RE7 loves scoring at halfway park! ❤️🤣

In fairness to the home side, they reacted well in period before half time, and filled our box and after a few, failed clearances, a few chances fell to hosts but were blazed over.

Into the 2nd half, and with brynawel pushing for equaliser at times, game becoming open, and stretched - appeared next goal would be key, and could have gone either way. Both us on counter, and brynawel adding to the corner count.

Hosts put one just wide of far post, and ourselves getting in behind few times and just lacking that final ball, and finish to kill the game.

The introduction of Bradley into CM made an instant impact, and we controlled the game more, and were unlucky not to add to our lead.

It was a hard earned, well deserved 3 points overall, and clean sheet! ❤️ 👏

Has to be said, how fair and well refereed, the game was from the home referee, and was much appreciated, with referee shortages this weekend. 👍

All the best to Brynawel AFC.
We look forward to another battle in the return fixture. 🤝

MOM 🏆 - A joint men of match, went to Scott Dawkins and Kieran Ace. 💪

Both had great games, solid - and contributing to a first, and very much welcomed clean sheet for quite some time. 👀 🤣

Last nights MOTM - Cameron Jewell 💪

Proudly sponsored by 3DFLO ❤️

Our 2nds suffered a heavy loss last night on our travels. With the game probably summed up with the 1st goal comming in under 30 seconds, with a ball into box, and attempted clearance kicked against a penclawdd player and into our own net.

Penclawdd spent first 30 minutes on top, and added to their lead, with a few poor clearances and some passive defending. 2 goals admittedly with on our part initially poor defending, ended with some quality in the end, 2 goals and finishes almost identical top bins. 👏

We finally started to play last 10 mins of first half, and got in behind but didnt really have the final ball to finsh off some good play.

The second half started like the first with an early goal to the hosts. But we felt after that we had a much better footing in the game, and stared to play and cause some problems.

Had 1 or 2 opportunities of which one we felt had crossed the line, but last 15 the game become stretched and hosts added to their tally. We did late on, bag a consolation goal, again in form of our striker Ollie Fisher. After some good work from aladin. Ollie bagging his 5th goal in 3 games, keeping his record of scoring in every game thus far.

In what was always going to be a tough test, against a young, fit side that have already put previous opponent's to the sword, and undoubtedly will be aiming to win it all come end of season. We do feel we played within ourselves, and having already experienced this already this season, we aim to put it right on Saturday. 💪

All the best to Penclawdd AFC for remainder of season, and look forward to return fixtures. 👍
