Gowerton Bowling Club

Our season has finally come to an end. We have welcomed new members, had a successful tour and secured our position in division one. A special thank you to our groundskeeper Peter Guard for all your hard work. To Martin Symes for keeping us organised, and to Captain Phil Davies for leading us once again. Thanks to all our members for your efforts and special recognition to our fantastic sponsors, whose support, as ever is so greatly appreciated.

Congratulations to Dafen Welfare Bowls Club for a fine victory 12-2 in difficult conditions today to round off the season. A huge thank you to all our players, supporters and especially our sponsors for all your support this year.

One final game against Dafen today away at 2pm
and just like that… bowls season is over.
The greens will be empty, the jacks will be resting, and grown adults will soon be wandering around Gowerton looking lost, clutching their bowls bags like emotional support animals.
Some say they might even have to talk to their families again. Terrifying.
But fear not — the sadness won’t last long.
Because as one door closes… the rugby gate swings wide open.
So until the mats come back out, we’re officially switching sports:
Gowerton Bowls ➜ Gowerton Rugby.
Same village. Same chaos. Slightly muddier.
See you on the touchline — we’ll be the ones still wearing our bowls club fleeces and pretending we understand the new laws! So good luck to our bowlers today and rugby boys for the season ahead.

A winning end to a frustrating PGL season saw us take the spoils in the bowl final against our great rivals, neighbours but most of all great friends Waunarlwydd bowling club.

41-68 the final score but the score didn't reflect the game, with it being close and 3 rinks right up until the last few ends.

As the season comes to a close against Dafen Welfare on Saturday we would once again like to express our gratitude to our sponsors for keeping us going.

After a week of wind, rain and called off games, Carmarthen rolled up and brought the sunshine with them. Having already secured promotion, they were chasing the top spot and came away with a 2-12 win.

Congrats lads and good luck next season up with the top dogs.

Gowerton are playing home today at 2pm and welcome title chasing Carmarthen. Will Gowerton spoil the party or will Carmarthen strengthen their grip on the title?

Either way, we will enjoy the game, and help Carmarthen celebrate their guaranteed promotion.

Gowerton’s strong end to the season continues with 12-2 away win against a spirited New Lodge side played in good humour. Thank you for the warm welcome.

On a busy day down at the athletic ground today with the return of the rugby, cricket and our good selves all playing at home.

Parc William were the visitors looking to progress up the table..

With 11 players missing we managed a spirited fight and a very handy 12-2 win, good luck for the rest of the season.
