HOW TO SIGN YOUR CHILD UP TO COMMUNITY KICKS ⚽️

I get asked all the time how you actually get your child into Kicks, so here it is all in one place 👇🏼

Community Kicks is completely FREE and open to young people aged 11–17.

You don’t need to be amazing at football, you don’t need to commit to every Friday and there’s no trials or anything like that 😂

It genuinely is this easy…

1️⃣ Join our Spond group here:
JOIN COMMUNITY KICKS ON SPOND⁠

Pop your child’s details in and I’ll accept you into the group.

2️⃣ Fill in our registration form:
COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION FORM⁠ - You can find this in the posts & files in Spond.

This just gives us everything we need... emergency details, safeguarding, consent, policies etc.

3️⃣ Wait for the weekly invite ⚽️

Every Monday we put the spaces for that Friday onto Spond.

Want to come? Accept it.
Can’t make it? Decline it.

That’s literally it 😂👏🏼

Spaces are first come, first served and there’s absolutely no pressure to come every week.

Then just turn up and get stuck in!

We’ve got kids who live and breathe football and kids who simply come because they love Kicks and want somewhere to go on a Friday night. Both are absolutely welcome.

We do get VERY busy and spaces can go quickly, so make sure you’re in the Spond group ready for the Monday invites.

💛 SEE THE ARMBAND. RESPECT THE REFEREE. 💛

You might have noticed some referees wearing this yellow armband.

It isn’t just part of their kit.

It tells you that the referee is UNDER 18. They are a child.

They might be the person holding the whistle, making decisions and enforcing the Laws of the Game... but they are also a young person learning, developing and gaining experience.

At Community Kicks, we’re passionate about creating opportunities for young people both on and off the pitch. Refereeing can build confidence, communication, leadership and responsibility and can even become an incredible career.

But young referees will only stay in the game if we create an environment where they feel safe enough to learn.

They will make mistakes.
They will get decisions wrong sometimes.
Just like young players do.

What they should never have to deal with is adults screaming at them, intimidating them, swearing at them or making them frightened to pick up a whistle again.

So whether you’re a player, coach, parent or spectator:

See the yellow armband.
Remember there is a child underneath it.
Let them learn. Let them develop. And back them. 💛

Because without referees, there is no game.

And who knows? That young referee you encourage on a Saturday or Sunday morning could be officiating at the very highest level one day. ⚽️
