This was a lovely recent commission- a pair of colourful photo albums for two young siblings, to be filled with memories and treasured for years to come.

I'm soaking up the warmth and light on my walks this week ☀️

With covers of beautiful Italian pattern paper, they are hand sewn with linen thread over straps made from a lovely matte bookcloth in contrasting colours. The traditional French link stitch technique creates a decorative exposed spine, with the pages lying perfectly flat when open.

My next workshop at the wonderful Burton at Bideford is Buttonhole Binding and the Pocket Fold Accordion Book on Saturday 3 May.

It was another delightful day .kind yesterday with my Three Sewn Notebooks workshop.

The bright bookcloth, gorgeous pattern papers and good company really cheered up the dismal January weather, and beautiful books were made.

I spent a happy morning training preservation volunteers in the safe handling and cleaning of their books.

It was lovely to be in the new Green Room (the whole building is looking beautiful now the main building refurbishment work is finished)

I'm back in the studio with plenty of book repair work to do (is there anything more satisfying than a corner repair 😊) and an exciting new commission, a programme of workshops and lots of ideas for new sketch/note books for my shop.
