UNDER 10’s | Match Report 💚 ⚽️

Well done to both our teams yesterday morning.

🐦‍⬛ Rooks playing some excellent stuff and making playing against 10 players look easy which if you don’t do the right things can be difficult.

⭐️Player of the match - excellent at the back starting most things and then also when he played higher up made some great decisions on the ball and of course got his 4 goals.

🐏 Rams I thought played really well and was unlucky to lose by just running out of steam at the end.

Parents couldn’t decide on player of the match so all round good performance shame on the result. 💪🏼

A special mention from me I thought ⭐️ Emelia was excellent today so well done to her.

U11s MATCH REPORT 💚⚽️

The U11 Rhinos and Rams welcomed Staplegrove to Creech Park for their first home matches of the season on Saturday

Both teams faced very strong opponents who were well organised, competitive and tough to break down. It was a challenging morning for the boys, but there was plenty to be proud of in the way they battled throughout.💪🏼

Defensively, there were some fantastic moments of resilience, with the players really digging deep to keep Staplegrove at bay. Some incredible last-ditch blocks, tackles and determination showed just how much fight and commitment the teams have.

Going forward, there were also some really encouraging glimpses of excellent link-up play, creating some good opportunities and showing the potential these teams have as they continue to develop together. 💚

The results may not have gone our way, but these are exactly the kind of matches that provide valuable learning experiences. There was plenty of effort, teamwork and determination on show, and lots for the players to take forward and build on as the season progresses.

A huge well done to all the players for their effort and attitude, and as always, a big thank you to the coaches and parents for their fantastic support.

⭐️Player of the match for the Rhinos was William for his bravery and continued battling despite suffering with a wrist injury.

⭐️Player of the match for the Rams was Jack R for some outstanding saves in goal and multiple times rushing out at the feet of the attackers to prevent a shot at goal.

Ruishton U10’s | MATCH REPORT 💚⚽️

🐏 Great morning of football for the Rams.
First 5/10 minutes was our settling in time and once we got the first goal we were pretty comfortable throughout.

Some very good one twos and playing into space on quite a large pitch.

⭐️ Player of the match today goes to Billy for his continued persistence and his 2 goals. Also special mention to Fred who also had a great morning.

🐦‍⬛ Rooks started the first half well below their usual standards but could still have been a few goals up. After a (little chat) at half time 😂

The whole squad stepped up and showed how good a team they can be and credit to them all and then went on to win the game comfortably 👏🏻⚽️

⭐️ Player of the match is Jax 🏆

His work rate was exceptional, great finishing and today his decision making on the ball was superb making goals for his team mate.

All in all a great morning again from both our sides 💚⚽️

6 matches were played throughout the morning with both teams having large squads of players available. This gave everyone a great opportunity to have extended time on the pitch.

The strong early season form continued with some brilliant performances across all matches. The work rate and effort from everyone was outstanding and this led to lots of chances to score and plenty of goals!

A very good morning all round, well done to all of the players.

⚽️ FULL TIME | Watchet 2–3 RUISHTON REBELS U12s 🟢⚪️

Ruishton Rebels travelled away to Watchet Saturday morning for what was already being billed as a top-of-the-table clash, with both sides unbeaten and sitting on 6 points.

The Rebels started nervously and were nowhere near their best, finding themselves 2–0 down inside the opening 10 minutes.

The first came from a break down the Watchet flank, finished at the back post. Moments later, a goalkeeper’s kick out of his hands wasn’t dealt with by Ruishton, allowing the Watchet striker to lift the ball over the keeper and double their lead.

But the Rebels showed great character and fought their way back into the game.

⚽️ 2–1 | Tobi D

A corner from Theo found its way into the path of what is already becoming a trademark Tobi D header to get Ruishton back in the game.

⚽️ 2–2 | Theo Wright

A long throw from Tobi D caused havoc in the Watchet defence. One of the throws led to a bounce inside the box, followed by a Watchet handball.

Penalty!

Theo — sporting his new boots, fresh haircut and, apparently, another girlfriend this week 😂 — stepped up and confidently buried the penalty low into the corner.

The momentum had completely swung.

⚽️ 2–3 | George

Before half time, Ruishton completed the turnaround.

A free kick in the middle of the pitch was taken quickly by Theo, leading to some excellent combination play between Ioan and George. George found himself through on goal and calmly finished into the corner.

2–3 at half time! 🔥

The second half was goalless, but there were still plenty of chances at both ends.

Ruishton created problems with several corners and long throws, while another excellent move down the Watchet right flank saw Oscar and others queuing up at the back post — but somehow the net just wouldn’t be found!

Watchet had one final opportunity towards the end of the game when a defence-splitting pass separated Tobi and Louis.

But William raced off his line, made himself big and produced an excellent save to deny the Watchet striker and preserve all three points.

A brilliant comeback from 2–0 down, showing plenty of character, determination and togetherness.

⭐️ MAN OF THE MATCH: THEO WRIGHT

Theo was named Man of the Match after being involved in all three goals, never giving up and working tirelessly in midfield from start to finish.

The U11s started the season with an away trip to Nether Stowey and Rhode Lane 💚⚽️

🦏 The Rhinos were up first against Nether Stowey and flew out of the blocks with a goal straight from kick off. A really strong performance from the Rhinos with some excellent link up play throughout and bravery in defence, blending in a couple of new players who did very well in their first match.

⭐️ Player of the match was Albie for some heroic saves in goal and great perseverance.

🐏 The Rams followed against Rhode Lane. Another very competitive match with high quality play and a goal of the season contender from Carson. Some of the combinations between the attacking players was very pleasing to watch and defensively also very solid.

⭐️ Player of the match was Jack E for his excellent defending and confidence on the ball.

Next up: Staplegrove at home on 3rd October 💪🏼
