Week #2

βœ” 30 secs Squats
βœ” 30 secs Fly Steps
βœ” 30 secs Air Punches
βœ” 30 secs Dorsal Raises
βœ” 30 secs Plank ups
Repeat πŸ‘

πŸ”₯ If you find 30 seconds too easy, try 45 or 60 seconds!

Just 5 minutes of high intensity cardio can help:

πŸ”₯ Fire up your metabolism
πŸ’—Improve body composition and heart cardiovascular fitness
πŸ€ΈπŸ»β€β™€β€ Feel better and reduce stress

5 minutes every other day is a small amount of time but can add up to a huge difference. Give it a go, your body deserves it.

Todays exercises:
30 secs Inchworms
30 secs Bear Crawls
30 secs Diagonal Mountain Climber
30 secs Punches
30 secs Burpees (everyone’s favourite)
Repeat

If necessary, adjust an exercise to make it easier until you have built up to do the full version Work as hard as you can for the 30 seconds and rest for 10 seconds between exercises. Take a little longer if you need it and as your fitness improves aim for a full 30 secs on, 10 secs off.

If you need more of a challenge, do as many reps as you can in 60 seconds for each exercise πŸ”₯

30 secs Reverse Lunges
30 secs Glute Bridges
30 secs Press Ups
30 secs Floor Row
30 secs Dips
Repeat

β˜‘οΈ Time to fit in some stretches or mobility work.

Getting my daily dose of exercise. Some of the benefits of aerobic activity:

β€’ Improves cardiovascular health and blood markers
β€’ Reduces asthma and other health risks
β€’ Reduces chronic pain
β€’ Aids sleep
β€’ Regulates weight
β€’ Strengthens immune system
β€’ Boosts brain power and mood
β€’ Increased Stamina fitness and strength

Aerobic activity comes in many shapes and forms. As well as the type of exercise, intensity and
duration are factors that will influence the amount of benefit you will get in each area.
Duration and intensity are inextricably linked. As duration goes up, intensity comes down.
At the two ends of that scale we find two popular training methods HIIT (High Intensity Interval
Training) and LISS (Low Intensity Steady State). I won’t go into detail here about the protocols of
each, but I will say that neither are superior to the other. They each have their value and may be
more suited to particular goals and training preferences.
Whatever you choose to do, make it something that you enjoy, feel most benefit from and can keep
doing regularly.

How many times have you put off the gym, run, ride or dietary changes? Where would you be now if you'd just done it? Where will you be in 6 or even 12 months if you don't do it now?

So, are New Years resolutions a good thing? Yes, why not, but don't let it be just a January thing.

It's always good to reflect on where you are and where you want to be, but stop waiting for the perfect moment before you start. That moment is always now.

Having some time out for yourself is one of the best things you can do for your health.

Use your day off to relax, have an adventure, try something new, or just switch off from the usual life admin and work.

Spend it doing something you love, in the sunny outdoors, get active, or with the people that make you happy. .
If you are lucky, or greedy like me, you can combine it all.

Great day out on the bike, enjoyed every moment doing something I thought would never be possible again this time last year.

My fitness might not be where I'd like it to be, but I'm enjoying the journey back.
