Alice had never been to a Pilates session before trying reformer classes at Tide End. Here’s her point of view during a class as a beginner!
Your Pilates at Tide End is guided by people who understand the body, not just the movement. And because we keep our classes small, our instructors can carefully guide the sessions based on your needs and abilities

Tide End Health is a specialist clinic and reformer Pilates studio offering integrated osteopathy, physiotherapy, clinical Pilates and group reformer Pilates, focused on long-term health, movement and performance.
Meet Jodene. For the past 10 years, Tide End has been part of Jodene’s life, and she describes it as a peaceful place with a real sense of community.
That’s exactly how we want our studio to feel!
With just six reformers in each class, every session is intentionally small and carefully guided. We take the time to understand how you move and how you want to feel, so you can progress with confidence from your very first class.
With the school term starting again soon and some of your schedule freeing up, why not give it a go?

Our team aren’t all here at the same time, but together, our instructors, practitioners, and clients bring Tide End to life throughout the day

Struggling with pain that just won’t shift?
If you’ve been dealing with tendon or joint pain that’s hung around for weeks or months despite rest, stretching, or over-the-counter painkillers, shockwave therapy (ESWT) might be worth exploring.
It works by delivering pulses of mechanical energy into the affected area. This helps stimulate blood flow and encourages your body’s own healing response in tissue that’s become stuck in a chronic, slow-to-heal state. It essentially gives the healing process a kick-start.
It can help with a range of conditions, including:
🔹Plantar fasciitis (heel pain) — and for this one specifically, it’s a treatment recommended by NICE
🔹 Achilles tendinopathy
🔹 Tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow
🔹 Shoulder pain from calcific tendinopathy
🔹 Hip and outer thigh pain (greater trochanteric pain syndrome)
🔹 Shin splints and other stubborn tendon injuries
It’s usually offered once other treatment hasn’t fully resolved things, and most people need a short course of sessions rather than just one to see the benefit. It’s a well-established, evidence-based option, not a quick fix, but a way of helping your body do what it’s already trying to do, more effectively.
If you have had a pain that has been sticking around longer than it should, get in touch and we can talk through whether shockwave therapy is right for you.

Holiday flares can feel like they come from nowhere.
For anyone living with IBD, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, axial SpA or rheumatoid arthritis, they often make sense when you look at what has changed.
Food, sleep, activity, stress, hydration, travel and medication routines can all place extra demand on a body that usually does better with consistency.
That does not mean you should avoid holidays. It means your body may need a little more support around them.
A few simple anchors can help:
• keeping medication times consistent
• protecting sleep where possible
• pacing the first few days
• staying hydrated
• moving gently after travel
• keeping up with helpful exercises, even briefly
• knowing what to do if symptoms start
Planning a trip? Come and see us before you go.
We can help you create a simple travel plan for your joints, gut, exercises and routine.
